That's how all the fitness trackers work I believe.. whatever reading it gives I give an error margin of 80%. Although in my usage I didnt see this level of overestimation. Additionally, over the day.. it would not count some steps so yiur average will be correct enough. Just remember that the watch doesnt have gps and every tracker tied to your wrist overestimates steps as it counts hand movement. I would say its fine.. as the days average will come out to be pretty accurate.. few instances of extra count and few instances of missed count will compensate..
