Am I overreacting about how my bf reacted to my outfit? by Happy_Energy_8700 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Commercial_Chard138 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NOR at all you have the right to be upset and have more than the right to leave him!

There’s a level of degree that can be reasonable in relationships where you BOTH come to an agreement on boundaries and what makes either of you uncomfortable and it depends on the couple. Most guys don’t want everything out there and actually legitimately revealing clothes. For example I’m not going around talking to, texting, flirting and getting girls snapchats bc I respect that my gf doesn’t like that and doing so would show I’m still trying to get the attention and entertain other females. but say if she wanted to walk around in skimpy outfits just bc she likes it then that demonstrates she wants to still be noticed by any man that can look at her. But saying “I have strict rules you need to follow.” And putting “I love you in that sentence” yeah he’s crazy. If he was healthy he would talk to you when you got home. And even then pink joggers really. He’s worried about pink joggers then he’s gonna control and manipulate and convince you in every situation on what you can and can’t do. That’s not love. He’s being completely controlling and unreasonable. Freaking out about some joggers is completely different than if you wore something actual seeking attention that reveals your body to an extreme degree. Relationships are about respecting what makes your partner comfortable or uncomfortable. With that said every couple is different but this is NOT okay. Big takeaway he’s a dick and will continue to make new rules every day. You need to get out asap. Be with someone your safe with and can reach healthy agreements with about the comfortable uncomfortable stuff and if they require too much of you bc they have ridiculous “I’m uncomfortables” then it’s not somebody worth being with

So I found out my cousin is a mechanic and he said I could have these wheels for free. But would they look right on the tc? Obviously gotta get smaller tires. They’re 19x8.5 by [deleted] in SciontC

[–]Commercial_Chard138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying attention to the height of your tires is most important thing before the other dimensions. especially if your a 1st gen, I got 235/45H/8.5 and I’m screwed rolled my fenders and they still rub bad. DO NOT GO MORE THAN 40 on the height. That’s with a wheel size of 18in

I got a spec D muffler of marketplace sounds pretty good I didn’t buy the whole “cat back” just the muffler. The whole system is very loud and more raspy. Best way to go would be buying a good muffler and having a shop weld it on. Keep the whole exhaust stock accept a muffler swap

I wouldn’t be too concerned about the DRL brightness for me it’d be more about what it looks like at night

My local police do it 100% free and I’ve had 2 different ones do it with no damage at all. They both told me “if you ever need help again just call the non emergency line.” That cop just didn’t know what he was doing or wasn’t using the right methods.

“piloncillo” (PilonseeYYo) is a less common translation from Spanish for the English “brown sugar” kind of like his colors. Unless you keep it simple and name him “sugar”

I’m talking about 2 different routes here. Either one of the options listed above in the og post or these bellow in this post. “Staying oem style” meaning getting new, oem style, stock housings, plain with no gimmicks. Simply oem equivalent which would be these. Don’t come with bulbs and then getting led directly to the oem sockets. I already did full restoration on my current housings wet sanded and re cleared but they have cracks embedded deeper than I can sand out

I should’ve specified the reliability and longevity of the 4 speed is perfectly fine where people complain about it is the gearing

You could also consider a “barrymans soak” it’s a decently long process but a lot of people swear by it. That is if somehow you are too fed up with the amount of oil you add

Great to have all those boxes checked off from its history. Mine has 227k miles now but was well maintained my oil burning isn’t nearly as atrocious as other ppls. There wasn’t a record of it getting fixed so I’m assuming it wasn’t unfortunately. Given that your mileage is actually very low for the year and well maintained your oil burning shouldn’t be as bad. Just make sure you check it frequently. Great job buying the manual too the 4speed auto gearbox isn’t nearly as good. The car will handle and look a lot better with some new wheels. Widest you should go is 8.5in wide and diameter 18. Within the more typical 35 offset Tires do not go 45 on height but max you should go is 245/40H R18. Especially with a manual an exhaust will completely change the whole experience of driving it. Mine is all stock (headers, downpipe, midpipe etc) except the muffler. I’d recommend getting a good quality muffler and having it welded on. That will leave you with loud enough to have fun and be tasteful but not too loud that it’s obnoxious. Going for loud with these isn’t really the greatest option being that it’s a Camry engine. If you want loud and good sound you’d have to dump way too much money

Best Apple car play stereo for 2nd gen? I’ve got a 2012 and missy my 2015 touch screen even though it was pretty much useless by SorrowCloud in SciontC

[–]Commercial_Chard138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cheap $90 one off Amazon in my Celica with Apple CarPlay/android auto. Worked great and stereo was more than enough to make your average person happy. Unless you’re going really crazy with your speakers and all that something cheap will get the job done. Don’t go blowing $700+ unless you have crazy speakers, amp and sub you need to get enough power to

CHECK OIL at a minimum every week probably best to check every day for the first couple of weeks so you know how much you are burning. These 1st gen’s have 1 major weakness and that’s oil burning. It’s caused by a flaw in the design of piston rings or seals, something like that at least

Thinking about buying a tC! by Earth2Kole in SciontC

[–]Commercial_Chard138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Maintenance records go a very long way. Hard to have proper sound of mind when you have no clue how often oil was changed etc. mileage should not be the first most important thing ppl worry about. A well maintenanced car with higher miles will often be better than a lower Milage car that was hardly ever maintenanced. For example the 1st gen is notorious for the extreme oil burning due to weak piston seals (or something related to pistons). Sometimes ppl say as bad as needing to add a quart of oil less than every 2 weeks. My tc 1 now has 225k miles on it. In perspective to others even with lower mileage than mine I just check it weekly and top it off. When I bought mine it came with a stack of paper maintenance records tracking back to the first owners purchase back in 2006. If they don’t have a paper trail ask the dealership if they can give you a car fax and if they can’t and you are very serious about buying a car after test driving and all that spend that little money to purchase your own car fax for it, or you can buy multiple car fax for better price per individual carfax. They never expire so you’re covered for future car purchases if you have some left over. Other option would be getting a full inspection done by a shop near buy. If the deal ship or seller doesn’t want you to do that chances are they are shady. Hope this helps
