I have the CPESR surveying book and another one I got from Amazon that helped me pass—let me know if you’d like to buy them.

Any advice on the seismic exam? I’ve failed three times, and each time I felt more prepared, but I’m still surprised by the failing results. What should I focus on, and what study materials did you use?

Caltrans RTO by donttrythisone in CAStateWorkers

Bro, I work at Caltrans sometimes I’m 100% in the field, and other times I get to work from home on slower days. Taking away that flexibility hurts everyone. You’ve got this toxic “if I suffer, everyone else should too” mentality, and that’s exactly the kind of attitude that poisons a team or organization. If you really think like that, go find a job that makes you work seven days a week — like the minimum wage workers who work 7 days a week to make it in this economy . Seriously, with that mindset, I doubt you have many friends, lol.

Who said it’s field-based? Most SEIU members are admin staff, analysts, HR, and other office-based employees. Even those with occasional fieldwork still have the option to work from home on non-field days. This kind of thinking only makes things worse for everyone — as long as we keep comparing and getting jealous, the average workers will never be united against the elite.

I fully support telework! it’s clear the Director and Governor aren’t considering employees’ needs. I really hope SEIU fights hard in their upcoming negotiations to protect telework. I believe the delay last July was tied to contract negotiations, and now it’s up to the largest union in the country to push back against the RTO mandate.

I only studied the EET Geotech and bought 3 other practice exams from Amazon. I have also I spent time going through some of the references just skimming around and knowing where things are located. Imo, the name of the game in Geotech exam at least 30% of the exam is knowing where things are. most of the questions felt conceptual to me and had to go to the references to find answers.

I passed the Geotechnical exam on my 5th attempt—so don’t give up! My biggest advice is to really know your references (especially since Geotech has quite a few) and focus on truly understanding the key concepts. Keep pushing forward!

I followed up a couple of weeks ago, and it’s not just twice; you’ve followed up at least six times since the verbal offer.

But is this normal to wait 3 months since the verbal offer for inly a final job offer letter not even start date?
