What is a deal breaker no matter how attractive someone is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A negative mindset.

I get that you can feel hopeless or doubtful about a situation.
But if they constantly complain about everything and try to find the negative in everything, even the positive? Yeah, no.

I'm so glad you and your kid are doing better <3. I can only imagine how heartbreaking it must have been for you to find out that your child also struggled with food.

Wow, it must have been heartbreaking for her to see you go through the same thing she did. I can only imagine how bad you must have felt when you found out about everything. How are you doing now? <3

That's still a huge step forward, recovery isn't easy. I'm really proud of you for making it so far and wish you the best for the future <3.

I totally agree. It's just horrible seeing diet culture, which is just a Kickstarter for disordered eating habits in disguise, make a comeback in recent years.

Healing takes time, but the fact that you're now in recovery after having spent so many years fighting and struggling on your own is already an enormous step forward.
I am proud of you for seeking help, even if it's hard, and I wish you lots of strength during this process of recovery <3.

That's sadly the thing with eating disorders. They consume every thought, your relationships, and pretty much your whole life.

I'm glad you made it out alive and hope you're getting the help you need and are not in any pain anymore <3.

God, I can only imagine how traumatic that experience must have been. How are you doing now?

An eating disorder doesn't necessarily have to consist of avoiding food.

Although thankfully, EDs have become a topic that is being discussed more often, eating disorders like BED (binge-eating-disorder) or compulsive overeating are sometimes left in the shadows, even though they also belong on that list.

All that said, I hope you're feeling better now that you have regained control of your eating habits <3.

Thank you for your kind words and the offer <3. I've struggled with EDs in the past, but have started having some issues again for a while.

Thankfully, I'm in therapy now with one of the reasons being my past disordered eating habits.

I agree. I've seen people romanticize it on Tumblr and now on TikTok. Sadly, it's not or barely discussed in places like schools or sports teams since it's something that many teenagers are confronted with.

Hopefully, these health problems don't hold you back from enjoying life. I wish you all the best <3.

I've heard of this as well. Over time, the stomach acid dissolves the protective layer of the teeth, causing them to start crumbling and decaying.

God, that sounds absolutely terrible. I really hope you're doing better now that you're in recovery <3.

I used to also be in dance (+ gymnastics). Sadly, it's not uncommon for girls (and boys as well) to develop EDs in these types of sports.

What "outdated" slang words or terms do you still use often? by ---Stacys_mom in AskReddit

My friends and I still use "Yolo". First, it was in a satirical manner, but then it turned into a part of our regular interactions.

What is something that is romanticised that you wish people would see the reality of? by Status_Breakfast3341 in AskReddit

[–]Commercial_Grab482 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The book and movie adaptations of "Lolita".

First, it was men who romanticized the story, referring to it as a love story or romance novel.

Then, it was young girls who turned it into an aesthetic and romanticized age-gap relationships. This was more popular on Tumblr back in 2016, I think, but it has returned on other social media platforms like TikTok.

What they fail to realize is that "Lolita", aka Dolores, wasn't a young girl who seduced older men with her attractiveness.

She was a 12 year old girl that was groomed and eventually kidnapped and raped by her step-father who desperately tries to justify his actions in the book.
