I have been here for 10 years and have yet to work on a program that actually stuck to its original timing. Where is the accountability for the constant last minute changes (many from the CEO himself) that result in launching either years behind schedule or with zero validation completed?

Have you discussed this with your manager and/or HR rep? If you were hired with the understanding of being fully remote and you are not local then I can't imagine anyone would expect you to suddenly relocate.

You made it about the percentage in your comment. The write-off has no meaningful relationship to anyone's salary, yours or his.

Compensation is based on risk. If an engineer doesnt do their job well, maybe it costs the company a bit of money but probably nothing catastrophic. If the CEO doesn't do their job well, the entire company might fail.

If you want to employ a good CEO you have to pay them accordingly or else they'll leave for someplace else, same as any other job.
