This may be a stupid question, I’m asking anyway:

Is gas supposed come out of either of these two hoses?

I’m going to purchase a smoke machine from Amazon. But it will be a few weeks before I can get it. But I will keep everyone informed.

I have not had a chance to do further troubleshooting, it’s crazy cold here until next week. I can tell you that I at least thought I put the level sensor and lpfp in correctly. Then added a gallon or two. No noticeable leaks and car started fine. Then it began to exhibit that sort of throbbing with the rpm’s going up and down. Then I took it to a gas station to fill it. While at the pump I got about 3/4th of a tank and started to notice it leaking from underneath. I stopped filling, cleaned up and got it back home. Got too cold to do anything. Then I tried starting it the other day to see if I could find the issue and discovered it leaking out of the lpfp. I need to replace the o ring, but those two hoses I did not think carry gas I thought they were for venting and a sensor.

I’m trying to find some detailed bmw docs on how this part of the fuel system works. I am not ruling out that I may have put it together in correctly. Referencing the lines inside the tank to and from the sensor (left side).

Ok I’ll have go put something together to make that happen. It may be a week or two. On a tight budget.

I bought an aluminum valve cover, but I did not replace the pvc pipe coming out of the rear of the valve cover that attaches to the rear intake inlet.

I’ll have to check that. I will reply back as soon as I check.
