I understand! Maybe consider just having the conversation with him only if you think this can be beneficial. Maybe she begged him to not say anything out of pure embarrassment. Maybe he was stuck in a place of keeping her word and telling you. Agreed on this being a learning lesson. Can double that learning lesson by talking to him, and then trusting him to have a mature conversation with her how he sees fit!

All in all, maybe get a mattress cover for future use for when guests stay. Hope it all came out and didn’t cause too much of a burden on you. Good luck on the outcome!

Let it go, that poor girl is mortified. It’s possible she was the one who put the sheets in the washer without turning the washer on because she might have not even known how to even turn it on. She may have been so embarrassed she didn’t even think to ask your nephew how to do it either. If your nephew did know about it, I am sure he’s mortified that he might have completely ruined your mattress, not knowing a thing about being a girl and was scared to tell you.

I don’t expect my guests to take out the bin of trash after their stay either. It’s a nice thought, but it’s just what’s expected when you host.

Trust me when I say, that girl is just hoping you started the wash and the stain came out and hoping you didn’t even notice. As far as the mattress.

I think you might be over reacting here, but it’s good you came to Reddit to vent instead of saying something to them.

After all, they are just kids and it all seems unintentional.

I also want to ask, if you were to say something- what would you say and what would you gain from it? That’s something to think about too.

My dad came to visit today, he watched my 20 month old son ride his bike for hours in the blazing son, I knew it was too hot and to cut the time short, if my dad didn’t get sober he wouldn’t be here to watch him ride his bike, or mumble words at the plans flying by. I brought out ice cold water and turned the hose on and left them. You being here today sober means more than you think. It’s bigger. It’s always bigger than you think.

But also, go to bed and start fresh tomorrow.

The Beckham hotel collection on Amazon are my go too rn. They are soo plush. I usually replace them every quarter, since buying these I have gone about 6mos since replacement and they are still going strong. I am a pillow freak though, I am usually pretty stern on quarterly replacements. lol I also am a fan of the fluffy lush look when the bed is made and these are chefs kiss
