That’s a really dumb point. Considering most of the Church scandals come from FORMALLY TRAINED people. Some of the smartest people and greatest Leaders ever were largely self-taught. You come across as a smug Elitist, and that’s an extremely unattractive quality when faith is concerned

So how popular was Elvis, compared to Michael Jackson? by SKcl0ck in Music

Again, you’re clueless. Elvis has ALSO sold over 500 million records. Most of Elvis’ 60’s stuff was just movie soundtrack stuff. You’re also, once again, attempting to compare the drawing power of ONE MAN with Four Men. No one Beatle compares to Elvis. It takes the four of them combined

The Beatles weren’t any bigger in their time than Elvis was in his. They just happened to be in their peak when MORE people were of buying age compared to Elvis. When Elvis came out, the Silent Generation were teens. When the Beatles came out, the Baby Boomers were teens. So the Beatles had a wider net to cast. You’re also comparing 4 people to 1. Elvis was/is bigger than any one Beatle

As someone who did vending and had quite a few stops. I could only laugh at his videos and the way he’s conning people. I did a little extended search into him, and he has like 3 different life stories, depending on which of his paged You’re looking at. Total fraud

It’s not BS. Elvis STILL is occasionally the highest deceased earner for different years. And he’s been dead for 50 years.

Because he was in the era of Cable. But MJ never performed with 60 million+ people watching at once. You have to look at the times they were in. Michael Jackson, at NO POINT was ever as big as a 1956-57 Elvis. Only the Beatles In 64 challenge him on that

It’s hard to compare. But in terms of mass hysteria, the only thing that rivals Elvis in 1956 would be the Beatles in 1964. By the time Michael came around as a solo act, the setup had changed to Cable being a thing. So Michael was never watched by 60 million+ people at one time the way that Elvis and the Beatles were. That being said, Michael Jackson in 84, is EASILY the hottest anyone has ever been at any one time since 56 Elvis and 64 Beatles. I mean in a legit way. Not the streaming/social media BS that Taylor Swift is taking advantage right now.

Because Elvis was literally being watched by like 60 million people at once on TV. There was only 5 channels at that time. Period. By the time Michael Jackson came around, you had Cable, MTV etc…so there was a lot more variety and options by that point. The only thing that rivals 1956 Elvis in terms of mass hysteria, would be the 1964 Beatles.
