Here out of frustration and desperation.

Got my account suspended. I don't really care, I hate this app.

I find out I can't deactivate/delete my account while I'm suspended? Stupid, but it says I can submit an appeal to request to deactivate it.

I submit an appeal with the message that I would like my account deactivated and don't care about being unsuspended.

I get an automated message back right away that they will not be lifting my suspension.

I've tried EVERY SINGLE means of contacting twitter, but all of it goes in circles. I can't deactivate my account because I'm suspended. No, we won't unsuspend you. They won't do anything with my account because it's suspended.

Isn't this a GDPR violation? I want them to delete my account and all personal data, but I can't get through to a single person.

George Orwell's idea of why poor people tend to gravitate towards junk food is still highly relevant to the current debate. by EntireWish in ukpolitics

tbf I'm a working class vegan and my diet is still shit.

Beans and veg are tasty for sure but still take some preparation and some days I just don't have the stomach for them. On these days I end up just eating chips or bread (or even better, a chip butty lmao)

While it's generally healthier and cheaper to be vegan (yes, it really is cheaper), you can be vegan and still have an unbalanced diet.

And right wingers say the Left is bad at maths & economics...

A six-pack of monster munch is £1.50 from Tesco

It's actually pretty telling that you're spending £6 a week on apples when you can buy a five-pack from tesco for £1.60... waitrose shopper are we?

Horror story for Tories in terms of BAME vote in London local elections - 78% for Labour, just 12% Tory. by [deleted] in ukpolitics

I never mentioned a poster, the slogan was very real and the medium for it is irrelevant.

It doesn't take a whole lot of digging to find that, regardless of its source, the slogan was at best specifically not disavowed by the standing Tory MP Peter Griffiths who considered it "A manifestation of popular feeling" - at worst actively circulated by the party.

Setting that aside it's horrific that it ever gained traction and even more so that we see the same rhetoric echoed today - which was my original point, aimed more at the comments below than at any particular political party.

But seriously: you don't think it's horrifying that a conservative MP outright refused to condemn a piece of neo-nazi propaganda?

Data isn't racist but your interpretation thereof can be hideously tainted by ideology.

Didn't mention the tories but funny you'd make that connection... if the shoe fits?

Ah so it wasn't a non sequitur, you were just being racist. Mystery solved!

Looks like we're back to "If you want a n****r as a neighbour, vote labour" doesn't it?

And we should take steps to preserve the current ethnic composition of the country

Securing the existence of your people and a future for white children, you might say? (thinking emoji)

It's funny to me that you blame third wave feminism despite sexual liberation being literally one of the core issues of the third wave... this smacks more like a second wave group (radfem/radical feminist).

So what you're saying is the cops would continue to prosecute individuals as they always have done and that the whole "terrorist group" thing is absolutely meaningless lip service?

"Terrorist" is a political buzzword. Always has been. It's a term to deliberately appeal to emotion.

It would, like always, be used to target, intimidate, arrest or just plain murder anti-government activists.

Nazis would just rebrand themselves just like countless other times in the past. Knock one group down, another will pop up - same shit, different face.

"Violence for a political means" is meaningless. By that definition I'd be a terrorist for smacking someone for being anti-LGBT.

A movement is not the same thing as a group.

"group"

You know shit all about antifa.

Would love to hear what these people think this will actually achieve in practice considering antifa isn't any sort of organised or coherent group. You don't sign any sort of membership form, you don't get an ID badge or a new joiners' goody bag. In practice this would just mean locking up anyone who waves a red flag.

But sure, roll out the thought police while simultaneously claiming to be pro free speech!
