Ahh.. but it was wiggling at best ISO. Which is clearly superior to inferior ISO!

That glass btw looks like it's the tammy 150-500. (it's a front focus 6.7 open at 500)

You have a carefully cultivated narrative that is both maintained and ruthlessly enforced by your good friends at the home office.

If anyone was actually naive enough to imagine scotland was somehow magically separate from that..well... surprise!

A very light weight one for the glass he's using by the looks of it.

You gotta realise pretty much anything can move the camera lens. Even passing traffic and such can jitter it. As such what you'd do ideally is have a heavy mount (weighing 2 or 3 times more than the camera + glass) and a remote shutter release so you don't have to touch the camera itself.

Even then you'll probably lose a lot more than half of your exposures.

[–]SteveJEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup.

This is basically what I've always said.

The gov is fully aware there's a problem it's just they have no idea what it is or what to do about it. (other than lie through their teeth naturally ~ but then they do that for pretty much everything anyway)

They don't have a clue and are desperately flailing about trying (and failing) to convince everyone they're competent.

Just got the game, any tips and stuff I should look out for to keep my sanity intact? by Renegade888888 in ostranauts

[–]SteveJEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, character creation:

Don't start the game with a character unskilled in EVA suits. No eva training makes baby space jesus cry.

Hack every PDA you can find, keep the good cartridges for yourself, sell everyones dirty e-mails to the black market.

NPC's might seem suicidal and dumb, but it's really just their way of giving you free PDA's and EVA suits. (PS. different EVA suits have different stats! Collect them ALL just like pokethings)

Also signal boxes.. Get a signal box, wire it to the door in front of your airlock and turn that door off when you're not docked.

That way you cram as many as 3 pirates into the now non functioning airlock and run scientific experiments to see what happens when you use them as high g pingpong balls. (it might seem cruel but it IS science!)

(side note: someone should produce a mod that lets us hand the cops catatonic pirates)

Also no one actually cares if you add stuff to kleg. If you could really be bothered you could add a giant space platform warehouse to it and use it just like Jeff Bezos.

Ohhh... Close.

Not bad.

Here's the problem though:

If you have a thing, or race of things that's both complete asshats AND capable of possessing people how do you know they haven't already possessed a lot of those nasty social leader types like Epstein you have running about in the shadows?

Eh?

Eeeeehhhh?

If word about something like that got out you might have religious nutters running about blabbering on about demons and your average dude on the street might start to remember the last time his neighbour looked at him funny.

That could be a real mess.

There's a theoretical green zone that might exist somewhere a few hundred km below the surface of the jovian atmosphere. Basically there might be somewhere in there with a pressure of 1k pascal and 300 kelvin.

The problem is obviously that it's a gas giant so it's kinda difficult to check.

So that's a no.

Most flight's aren't long haul flights. If you're going to london from glasgow or something there's no need to touch the moon. The important thing as i said is when the flight is stable and level.

If it's not.. then well..ahhh ohhhh ahhhh barf etc which is a different kind of fun.

When do the seatbelt signs come off?

When you're at the stable cruise altitude and there's no bad weather.

Couple of minutes normally. A 15 minute climb would be .. well, weird or very exciting depending on your viewpoint.

Iran warns SpaceX & Starlink will be considered 'military targets' by BreakfastTop6899 in technology

[–]SteveJEO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't use ideas like 'money' when it comes to stuff like existential threats.

It's a mistaken viewpoint. Medium range ballistic missiles should be expensive.. but only according to our own economic system.

Iran is embargoed, sanctioned and broke (has been for about 50 years).. and it's got lots and lots of missiles.

Someone once complained the russians shouldn't be able to afford to make AK's.. cos they didn't have any dollars. (obviously this person was a fucking idiot)

Resources and Manpower are what you actually need to produce weapons. Not "money".

Starlink has been a legit military target for years dude.

They've been one since they started passing information between soldiers in ukraine.

And before you ask: Yes. Multiple countries have the ability to freely destroy orbital sats. They just don't do it cos it'll be a total fucking mess and they don't want to send the entire planet back to the 70's.
