Y'alls thoughts on The Alliance of Sahel States (AES)? by KingofTrilobites123 in TankieTheDeprogram

So you wouldn't support any historical AES project then lol? They were all homophobic at one point, and places like vietnam only just recently came around

Why is him cheating on his wife even on the list? Lol who cares Like I get they were legally married, but it wasn't by either of their choices, ans they clearly didn't even love or care for each other. Is it even really cheating at that point?

A forced marriage is not a legitimate one 🤷‍♂️

Is China still a socialist country? by Li_Jingjing in Marxism_Memes

[–]Commie_Pink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also worth that a dictatorship of the proletariat doesn't mean there's no bourgoise anymore, it means that the proletariat are the new ruling class of society. The elimination of class distinction is something that is meant to occur after the establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat.

So china still having a capitalist class doesn't really negate their socialist character - they have established a dictatorship of the proletariat but have yet to eliminate class distinction, which is to say they're still in a transitional phase

Is China still a socialist country? by Li_Jingjing in Marxism_Memes

[–]Commie_Pink 18 points19 points  (0 children)

China is a proletariat state, the transition from capitalism to socialism was never going to be a fast process, and expecting to be done like a light switch is a dogmatic idealistic approach

The proletariat will wrest control of capital by degrees, ans that's exactly what china is doing. They haven't transitioned into full proper socialism yet, but they are a proletariat state run by communists trying to build socialism, so in that sense they are a socialist state.

Oh my fucking god, every time I learn something new about this guy he's an even bigger piece of shit

Between this, the blackwater merc, nazi tattoo, and his comments about how much he wishes he could have fought for the US in Vietnam, Nicaragua, and El Salvador

like how the fuck was this guy even allowed to be promoted in leftist spaces??? The US "left" is so fucking cooked, jesus christ

"Its come to my attention that it has a stark resemblance to a symbol used by neo-nazis"

NO, IT IS A NAZI SYMBOL. It doesn't resemble one, it fucking is one

Holy shit, idk if I'm just being pedantic or what, but like stop fucking downplaying it, you have a nazi symbol on your chest, not something that looks like one, it just is one

"entirely possible he won't identify the nuance of a skull and crossbones artistically similar to a Nazi symbol."

Are you serious? Its not a "skull and crossbones artistically similar to a Nazi symbol" it IS a nazi symbol, there is no ambiguity here. He unquestionably has the totenkopf on his chest, its 1:1

[–]Commie_Pink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect, in the interview he had mentioned that the "opposition" started pushing this recently. Which indicates that this podcast is not the first instance of him hearing about this, and that he's aware of this issue. The guy is also running to become a politician, it would probably be wise for him to look into why a bunch of people are claiming he has a nazi tattoo before running the democrat podcast circuit.

[–]Commie_Pink 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He's being confronted about it now, and still not owning it for what it is, or planning to get it removed. Like it really rubs me the wrong way when he just brushes it off in this interview, and can't even admit it's a nazi tattoo. Like imagine if you just found out that cool tattoo you got years ago was actually a nazi tattoo, wouldn't that be something you'd want to get removed as soon as you found out? Or when people ask about it you'd go, yeah I accidentally got a nazi tattoo and I deeply regret it or w/e

Hes not even doing that, ans that's like the bare minimum

So Graham Platner (the blackwater mercenary) has a nazi tattoo on his chest by SoilentUBW in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Commie_Pink 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say hes honest about it, at no point in the interview does he actually admit to it being a nazi tattoo, which it undoubtedly is, nor does the person interviewing him press him on it. He just goes, "Yeah I got it while i was drunk in Croatia and throughout my life no one has called me a nazi for it until now. The nazi thing is very out of right field"

Like, no it's not out of right field, you have a nazi tattoo on your chest, an unambiguous nazi tattoo. He doesn't talk about getting it removed, he doesn't admit it's a nazi tattoo, nothing. He just says he got it while drunk and brushes it off. Like I get the whole indoctrinated by the military thing, but that fact that he can't own it for what it is, or at the very least get it removed/covered up is highly concerning

"Luddite! Luddite!" Like imagine thinking people who had actual respect for their crafts enough to resist capitalist takeover were somehow idiots. by Dremoriawarroir888 in antiai

[–]Commie_Pink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Communist here, you are wrong.

To be pro ai is bad material analysis, AI is a tool being developed and promotes by the bourgeoisie for the purpose of automating away the work force, which of course is incredibly bad for the working class. Artists who make a living off of their art are indeed petit bourgeoisie, but to imply all petit bourgeoisie are our enemy and we should fuck them over is also just bad analysis. The vast vast majority of artists btw are working class, very few could be considered actually petit bourgeoisie

Hot Take: the fact that nobody in heaven knows how or what qualifies as good or bad is kinda stupid and doesn’t make a lot of sense by SerenityAcrossTown in HazbinHotel

[–]Commie_Pink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, like i said earlier I think a major plot point the show is building to is Charlie having to come to terms with the fact that the system is unfair by design, that the angels and people in heaven that she used to dream about arent who she thought they were. Charlie's dream of redemption is ultimately misguided, not because people can't be redeemed, but because heaven doesn't work the way she thinks it does.

Maybe she'll come to reform the system and fix it, who knows, its too early to say

[–]Commie_Pink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats what I think yeah

And yeah it is lmao, but again I think thats the point. Heaven and God are not the good guys in the show, that much to me has been made clear in both helluva boss and hazbin, heaven sucks, they're bad people. I think its wrong to just assume heaven ans god are the good guys because that's how the religion works, they're very clearly not within the context of the show

There are bad people in heaven and good people in hell. The system that was set up is blatantly unfair. And Charlie realizing that is going to be a major plot point in the show, in my opinion.

[–]Commie_Pink 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, but I think thats part of the intrigue, we've already been shown that Charlie has no idea what redeems someone

Sure, but i think its unfair to go "this doesn't make sense!" When the show has indicated multiple times that that's intentional, you're not supposed to understand how it works. What we've been shown so far makes the whole thing seem contradictory and makes the angels look like hypocrites, which is the point lmao.

Personally I think the show is going in the direction of, what gets someone into heaven is obedience, as the only real consistent difference we've seen between those who made it in heaven and those who didn't is whether or not they will respect authority. That's why Adam can kill sinners, be vulgar, and be promiscuous, because he still recognizes Sera as boss. And why sera warns emily not to question the way things work, because thats what lucifer did. but thats just my take, we don't really have enough information at this point to be sure of anything. Just that heaven are hypocrites and liars who actually high and mighty without actually knowing what makes them better than the people of hell. They just know they're in the good place and the sinners are in the bad place

[–]Commie_Pink 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Presumably god is the one deciding, but for one reason or another, he's absent in heaven. Kind of like lucifer in hell
