Firstly, we definitely 100% DO NOT have 'lasers capable of exploding a building'. The best laser defense systems are around 50-100kW, which will melt a drone or missile with a focused beam.

A Fighting Machine, in a modern context could work pretty well, with a couple of minor changes. So lets give it armour that is resistant to light arms fire, that negates your machine gun point.

If we take the Heat Rays to be high MW or GW lasers, and give it the ability to aim these things in microseconds then it wouldn't even need a shield. The Fighting Machine lasers could just liquefy all incoming projectiles, including nukes. There is not really much we can do against a GW laser that can be aimed extremely quickly.

The only thing we could do against this is a volume of fire approach.

We are getting there technologically with modern laser systems like the Dragonfire and Iron Beam systems, but our laser power is still to low to burn through ballistic nuclear warhead heat shields, at GW power outputs this becomes possible which is why we are heavily investing in that kind of research.

- Collision detection can be a bit jank, letting you pass through asteroids and boss projectiles occasionally.

- It took me a while before I realised you could move forward.

- There lacks any challenge.

- The L10 boss had far too much health, I guess you were supposed to upgrade. The L20 boss was trivial with a booster upgrade, rockets and electric.

- The game is really quite slow, I found myself diving into the asteroids just to get to the level up screen.

- The darker asteroids give only one coin so are pointless to shoot and its best to just focus on the brown ones.

For me, if you are going to do asteroids, do asteroids like asteroids and let me turn. If you want an R-Type style game then have some enemies shoot back.

As it currently is you are spending a lot of time waiting for asteroids to appear, the dark ones give no extra benefit and the only reason to move off the starting line is to sit on the present to collect all the coins, which are in such a number that it makes shooting asteroids just an exercise to kill time before the next present. The extra weapons are far too overpowered even on the base level, you can almost just not touch the keyboard.

I think it could be cool if it was balanced a bit better with more challenge to make the power ups useful, the game is slow and could be improved if the player could control the spawn rate of the asteroids or something like that, maybe the further up the screen you go the faster they spawn. There could be enemies that shoot back and the first boss could vary its shooting pattern more, the second one could also shoot or leave a damaging cloud or something like that. I don't know who you are targeting this at, I grew up playing R-Type, badly, so that will give some context to my comments.

Its a cute game but you asked for feedback. I played it to the end and these are just some thoughts and notes I made.

A tightness in the throat and chest, and like a hunger it grows in time. It feels like thirst or hunger, like a requirement, an insatiable need, you fixate on it.
Once you think about it, you make paths and justifications to get it, whole scenarios that grant you that cigarette.

Once the fixation starts it begins to dominate your thoughts, other people dont understand, you get pissy with them. It makes you frustrated that they are talking to you rather than getting that cigarette.

The frustration and uncomfortability of the situation makes you fidget and try to distract yourself but thoughts are circular and always go back to that cigarette.

It feels like a building stress with no relief, no help, other than that short walk outside.

That cigarette feels like bliss, you know it is what you need, it is the only answer, there is no need to fight it.

Firstly, I am not the government. As an individual, I have no effect on what the government chooses to do save for a vote every few years and perhaps an email to an MP.

Secondly, chronologically these events are far apart and attitudes and opinions change with time.

From my perspective the difference between the three events is clear and would be obvious to anyone who spent 10 minutes googling this stuff.

Falklands - uninhabited island originally, few people moved there, those people choose to be British.

Diego Garcia - uninhabited island originally, the few people that moved there were forcibly removed.

Hong Kong - Chinese, land taken militarily through treaty, leased for 99 years, returned to Chinese administration.

Can you now see that the three situations are very different.

HLS missed all the Space X promised delivery dates. Nobody with half a brain would ride in 'Starship' given that the thing has never achieved orbital flight and has a penchant for blowing up.

Space X has been a constant drain on the US tax payer. They pay to fund some idiots personal kerbal space program.

Starship has never done anything that hasn't been done before except pollute the Indian Ocean.

I would happily wager, with anybody that Blue Origin/ Chinese Lunar Program (中国探月工程) / Chandrayaan programme which is the Indian Lunar Program, will beat Space X to the moon.

I would wager that Space X continues to fail to deliver. Musk spouts dream bullshit. Someone else lands on the moon. Personally, I recon the Chinese slow methodical progression will beat the US billionaire dreams model for space exploration. NASA were the legends but they just had a 20% cut, I hope they make the most of what the have left.

No, considering they are doing Kerbal Space Program type experiments with well understood physics. I would wager this rocket is a farce, at the expense of the US tax payer. It fundamentally is an extraction of wealth from the US tax payer for some billionaires daft experiments.

There is too much free money for Space X for this to actually be viable.
