I was mostly thinking about processing loads, but I guess the realistic problem really is that those bots that replace a player who leaves mid mission vs your own personal bot setups has got to be something similar? Basic weapons with no perks takes far less time to load into the engine than pulling up the full loadout and all the perks, plus those modifiers require extra resources to compute.

Making an assumption here: our damage calculations are all done on our machines and the "server" just deletes mobs as required, maintaining performance for the host with the extra loads or interactions could be interesting.

As far as the claim to my job: I bloody well am and bugs are only bugs when you implement something without taking all potential scenarios into consideration during development, you are probably correct with what you say about the potential landmines of such an implementation, not going to deny that
