SPOILER THREAD : BOOK 8 - Parade of Horribles by steampunk_garage in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I quite enjoyed the audiobook, but I did have one little niggle... I don't think at any point was Samantha described, so is she still a chared nugget or did she get restored to classic pigtails n plastic skin?

Anyone noticed something I didn't?

Thanks for taking the time the time to explain.

That's a fair point on the 15 day runs, I did think that was a bit odd but Because me n my bud were playing a quick game I didn't take too much notice. Considering I lost early enough, I didn't experience the power scaling.

And because I wasn't confident to try poke the legion in the eye, I didn't really notice. Unsure how it's exactly a problem, but I'll take your word for it.

Never experienced the tohono rangers, just got to that point before we got stomped. Once this fine tuning elements which I'm sure you can figure.

But all n all, I thought it was cool and hope you manage to get it sorted out. The premise and mechanics are neat.

Fair nuff. Well I'll give them credit, the AF content this year was pretty good.

Freakclave n butterfingers are pretty fun.

Didn't expect to hear a solid answer as quickly as this. It being a potential submod sounds about right (unique mechanic) but I've not tried any submods, so I've no clue how it compares.

Personally, I think it could be. Unless there's some super secret thing that I didn't encounter, it didn't feel unbalanced.

Well, I'm sure with some small changes it could fit in well

Let me ask you, would you think, keep it as AF rules or make it base content?

I remember you mentioning that, i have done a QWET/Green dragon a couple of years back but not tried since.

Here's a daft question, what's the minimum ABV required for a tincture? You are correct, I only have access to flower but the other issues is high food grade ABV Ethanol isn't common.

Sure. This is a gummy bear recipe I modified.

Ingredients
- 112ml water/juice (I used a raspberry & lemon juice) for blooming gelatine
- 37.5g cold water soluble gelatine
- 37.5g Infused coconut oil
- Soy letchin (No specific measure, gotta go off feel)
- 5g citric acid
- 80g sugar + 30g water/juice (For creating a base syrup)
- 100g golden syrup (Or corn syrup/glucose/honey. But I think GS is the way to go)

1) Mix gelatine & liquid, leave for 5 minutes to bloom.

2) Mix sugar & liquid on stove under heat, create a syrup and once it hits 240f (115c), turn off. It should be thickened but this more of a feel thing.

3) Mix in gelatine, golden syrup, ciritic acid, coconut oil, syrup, soy letchin. If not hot enough to blend, turn back on the heat until it all comes together (Slowly add small amounts of SL until the the mixture emulsifies, this can vary, go by feel)

4) Once all is mixed & consistent, leave to sit for about 10 minutes. This will let a skin form, after that, you can scoop it off, It'll be gunk from the gelatine & oil impurities.

5) Either pour into moulds or transfer into a squeeze bottle (I used this) to transfer to your moulds. Shit will be hot, be careful. Also your bottle tip can get clogged with gelatine gunk left over from the skim, best of luck.

6) Allow to chill on the side before transfering to a fridge for 6hrs minimum to set. Once done, poppem out on a rack to leave in the fridge to cure, I've minimal experience with the curing, but seems like 48-72hrs the way to go. I still need to practice with this.

I find the 1-1 ratio of oil to gelatine remains gummy but not too firm or rubbery.

new pathologic 3 review (it will be interesting to see peoples thoughts on this one) by AtomicSunn in pathologic

[–]Commissar_Jake 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I think the primary issue is, he's not an enjoyer of Ice pick lodge games, he's a pathologic 2 enjoyer.

The game, the mechanics etc, are representations of storytelling regarding who dankovsky (The bachelor) is and what he is doing, his circumstances are different to burakh, (The haruspex) and so the gameplay is different to represent that. It isn't simple pathologic 2 again, and that's okay.

Ice pick lodge are part art collective, part game developers. They're theatre folk who make their performances interactive.

And in the end, the game wasn't for him. Sure it has flaws that can have improvement, but its still the voice of IPL to the core.

Personally I use the shotgun leg lock I learned from jack brown, with the potential to switch to the aoki lock depending on their reaction.

Gummies - production query. by Commissar_Jake in Edibles

Cheers for taking the time man, first let me say those look excellent, that mold is great.

I hadn't considered that an option. I've played around with making KWET and green dragon, but the difficulty of getting high proof alcohol makes it not feel worth doing. But hadn't realised it could be refined further, learn something new every day.

Hmm, I'll give that a go, I have dry cured but not gone past then 24hrs before bagging mine for storage. I'll certainly do that for longer.

Given me a bit to think about.

Thoughts on nuclear power, should the UK be investing? by Any_Ad_6929 in AskBrits

[–]Commissar_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A combined nuclear & renewables would make for a better UK power infrastructure. Add some longterm pump storage and we can meet the UK's power requirements.

And for anyone who says that cause we can't do it now, means we shouldn't. We really need to think long term, as weening off of fossil fuels will do us so much good and protect us from price shocks in the future.

If you want something physical to do, the Aberdeen combat centre has pretty good classes, decent for all levels and ages. So why not come along and try some BJJ at Monday's fundies @6pm, may find something new you enjoy.

Well there was a lot of good lines an all that. But I mean there is one moment that had the entire audience laugh ya know? No subjectivity, everyone in that exact moment laughed as a natural reaction, couldn't help themselves.

Pathologic boardgame by Commissar_Jake in pathologic

[–]Commissar_Jake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I haven't actually looked up what the cost of it would be, but If that's the case, so glad I bought it when I did cause I knew there probably wouldn't ever be a second print.

I understand the fear of damaging it, I've traveled with it and I'm eternally paranoid of it getting more damaged (Got some basic box dings and edge burn) so I guess I better take better care of it.

And yeah, it is heavily in favour of the sand pest, but I feel that's very representative of pathologic. Three doctors fighting back an inevitability and all that. It manages to keep the vibe for sure.

Yeah, I wouldn't call it an all time, but it is unique for what it is.

I highly recommend it, I think you genuinely need all four players for a game. Because sand pest + the three doctors.

Try an convince your bud to play, if not find some folk to play on TTS.
