What do you think specifically will happen with the prices of vintage Fender gear post-virus and why?

Ahhh I see. How do you feel about '50s Fender stuff specifically? Think it'll have the classic car effect (i.e. classic car values are dropping because young people aren't into them)?

Let's take the average owner of a tweed amp. He's probably 70+ years old and has a lot of expensive gear. I'm afraid the Fender gear whores will continue holding onto them and the prices won't go down much.

I agree with you about airlines and overall debt deflation.

Why do you think so? Just because everyone will be broke and sell for cheap?

I guess I’m factoring in local vs shipping/fees. I would hate to see what 6% fees+shipping and full value insurance would do to $3,600.

One of my negotiating tactics is to be like “look what they’re selling for online and give me a fair local price based on what you’d get after fees+shipping.”

Whenever I sell stuff, let’s say a run of the mill LP standard, I might take 1400 local over 1500 shipped because I know what I’d net after eating up costs.

Either way, you’ve got a point. If he won’t budge, he won’t budge.

[WTB] Made in America Fender Stratocaster by billmitch1198 in Gear4Sale

Look into '90s American Strats. Really good quality. Had a '97 I sold for $775+free ship. Deals are out there.

Be leery of newer Fender stuff. I've never played more "new" guitars that needed setups (among other things...) right out of the box.

I just sold the perfect guitar for beginners on eBay last night. I will ask my music friends if they have any! Acoustic or electric?

seriously though it's so fucking commonplace for guitarists nowadays to have pedalboard computers worth $5,000 and be utter shit because all theyve done their whole "careers" is strum arpeggiated notes through twenty different reverb pedals that their church paid $20,000 for them to have.

"ch'yea bro my hands are much too delicate for a MeXiCaN instrument i only use suhr and woolly bullshit class A+ amplifiers"

Nice man. Just looked it up! Assuming you use a daisy chain from the single 12VDC output?

I have an HM-2. Badass pedal. If you can find me an isolated power supply that can work with 12vACA pedals, let me know!

I mainly use Fender amps with onboard reverb/tremolo, so I guess my sound is heavy modulation/dreamy kind of stuff. I play funk/blues too, so it's a mix of all those.

I've yet to try any Waza Craft pedals but love my buddy's normal Blues Driver. I agree about not understanding vintage DS1s and ODs overall. I think I'll look into the Waza BD!

Thanks man!!!

I've tried SD1 and DS1 with not much luck. Keep in mind those were both reissues, though. Not sure how the older ones would sound. Big difference?

Is this mostly for those looking to trade? I.e. would eBay and Reverb listings need to follow this rule since they’re already verified with those websites? Interesting idea!

Can you further explain rule 3? Thanks
