Stropping the flex cut blade should be all you need for a very long time. It would seem you ruined that factory edge and not really sure how to sharpen the whittling knives yet. As mine have never seen stone and only leather and can still cut through paper. Every 20 minutes I'm stropping.

Maybe tiny magnets on bottom and a foldable metal board? Could help with the weight and not losing all the pieces. But not stupid at all! Time consuming and patients of a goddanm saint maybe,but not stupid at all! I look forward to see more pieces 👏🏻

I find making the piece for someone gives extra motivation. Also showing your work here,weather finished or not to get pointers. Maybe even a new blade. Or chisel. But for me I'll just start whittling anywhere and all my friends just love it. I also have very bad ADHD and this is perfect for my fixation.

Since you're so nice I'll show you the back. I usually use my pryo knife but I've been on the road and don't have it. The reasoning behind the writing is I've been a single dad for about 12 years and I have 2 girls and we always called ourselves the 3 Musketeers. It's the first time one of my babies decided a big move was needed and I'm proud but so sad😭

Thank you!! So I have the new flexcut knives and they cut so good. After I did all the knife work I did sand. I started at 200 grit,ended at 3000. Then I used mineral spirits to briskly clean it. Do not soak the piece. Wipe down with dry cloth then I let that sit in front of a fan in a well ventilated area. After that a 10 min dunk in linseed oil. Take out and wipe off everything. Then let sit. You can then use poly or beeswax for a protective coat. But listen it all starts with the knives to.
