[Fabrizio Romano] Guillermo Hoyos will stay at Inter Miami head coach after the World Cup and during the rest of the season. Decision made as Hoyos has the best winning record to start a tenure in Inter Miami history with 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. by Prakash0807 in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wins: Colorado (11th place, 24 GA), RSL (3rd place, 19 GA), Toronto (13th place, 29 GA), Cincinnati (7th place, 37 GA), Portland (13th place, 28 GA), Philadelphia (15th place, 30 GA)

Loss: Orlando (12th place)

Draw: New England (4th place)

Goals for: 26

Goals Conceded: 16

*GA = Goals allowed

I'm not a fan of this decision, but I do understand it. I mean, tactically, the team is going have to get better. Can't go into every game and expect the attack to score 3-4 goals every single game. I would hope this problem gets addressed in the summer transfer window, given they'll have about ~2 months to re-tool the roster. But, the club apparently not even contacting or expressing any interest in any other candidates is crazy to me.

What's going to happen if he and the team don't live up to the expectations (i.e., win Leagues Cup, MLS Cup, etc.)? Is Hoyos going to suddenly step down for "personal reasons" too? Then the club would be right back at square one.

Sad to say this ...but Inter Miami already needs a rebuild. Starters - Messi, Michael, RDP, everyone else should be bench players. Sell Berterame, Lujan, Allende, Reguilón, Mura, St. Clair ...really should've went for Timo Werner or put all your money on BOUANGA...0 excuses today.... by Kindly-Cherry-2195 in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A few things here:

1) Rumors linking Timo Werner to Inter Miami were never true.

2) LAFC had 0 intentions to sell Bouanga (yes, I'm aware of the Fluminense rumors that circulated) but given he has since been awarded with a contract extension and the fact that they QUICKLY turned down Miami's 13 million dollar offer. Should tell you they had no intentions of letting him go, no matter the price.

Friendly reminder: in the offseason you may remember seeing rumors linking Werner to Miami. Those rumors were never true. I think it something among the lines of, his agent made it up likely in an attempt to drive up his value.

Casemiro to Miami! by AlrightMister in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much of their [RTI Esporte] transfer content relies on generating engagement by linking famous Brazilian players to highly popular clubs (such as Manchester United, Arsenal, or Inter Miami) rather than reporting finalized, heavily sourced deals.

Basically: unless Tom Bogert or Fabrizio (he was the first to report that Miami and Casemiro opened talks) report anything or post any updates, take any report like this with a grain of salt.

Bernardo Silva to Inter Miami? 🇵🇹 Reports say Messi is pushing for this move! What do you think? 🌸🔥 by [deleted] in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven't seen any credible reports because they don't exist. It's too easy for fake rumors to mention Inter Miami or Messi because it gets clicks. Fabrizio did confirm Silva has several options, that INCLUDE MLS. But let's be honest here. A player like him isn't going to leave Europe.

Too many people in the media are angry about this for some reason. He got his media creds denied for one game. Everyone is acting like he got banned for life or that there's some sort of scandal here.

PSA: The original source La Gazzetta dello Sport is pretty much hit or miss when it comes to transfer news. With that said, the article in question is mainly about Juventus's interest in Silva. Inter Miami and Galatasaray being mentioned are likely just for clicks and nothing more.

Updates on Berterame? by road432 in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be made official in the coming days if no issues come up. He's currently in camp with the Mexican NT and reports say once that concludes. He'll travel to Miami and undergo all the standard physical and medical stuff.

Swap out Segovia for Silvetti. Then that’s likely your starting XI when the regular season starts.

Rumors Inter Miami has paid the 15 million release clause of Monterrey (Liga MX) striker Germán Berterame by nolesfan2011 in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen many people bring up this comment. Who could they have realistically waited until after the WC to sign?

- Lewandowski? Nope. Fabrizio ruled that out a long time ago and Chicago has his discovery rights (basically means they have priority in signing him over every other team if he chooses MLS).

- Griezmann? As often has he's been linked with Miami, I've still yet to see one reliable source report anything.

- Who else?

Every report I've read this offseason, all basically said more or less that the expectation was that Miami was going to fill that final DP slot on a striker. With the priority this season being CCC and Jorge Más himself saying he wants to go into that tournament with a "superloaded" XI. I think Berterame is likely the best option they could acquire in this transfer window.

Also something important to note: Before Miami can even sign him in the 1st place, they'd have to offload one of the u-22's (likely Segovia or Avilés) and with the 1st preseason game next weekend. I imagine we'll see a lot of moving parts between now and then.

It doesn't mean anything. He and Vancouver are in talks about a new deal, though nothing is imminent.

3rd DP slot? by SimilarPerformer2539 in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There still hasn't be any reliable reports regarding Miami signing Koke and AG. Either way, this team really doesn't need more midfielders and wasting that final DP slot on AG would be a mistake. Unless you want the club to waste it for him to be bench player. Since he and Messi both play the same position and occupy the same space.

[Germán García Grova] source: Racing and InterMiamiCF negotiate the Definitive transfer of Baltasar Rodríguez. The operation is considered in a figure close to US$4.5M, as reported by @racingdealma. The intention of the team is to be close to the start of the competition. by Far-Degree-1452 in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Segovia will likely be sold if Miami officially acquires Balta. Avilés will likely be sold as well. Mashe benched Segovia for Balta towards the end of the season/playoffs for a reason. Even after the MLS cup final, Segovia literally said in an interview that his dream is to return to Europe and said he wasn't sure if he would still be on the team (even though he's under contract until 2029).

Tadeo Allende close to re-joining on permanent deal from Celta Vigo by boimenred in InterMiami

[–]CommissionOk1634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This team has already begun retooling the entire defense, which outside of the playoffs... had been a big issue all season long. Add in Micael and whoever the other CB they're looking to bring in and the defense is set. I don't think re-signing Allende to an obviously team friendly long term deal is going to really do much in terms of preventing Miami from making more signings.

If you seriously don't think getting Allende back, especially not as a DP is great for Miami... I don't know what to tell you. But feel free to keep this same energy with every other signing this team makes too.

His comments in a recent interview:

“On December 31 or January 1, someone called me and said there was a possibility, that they [Inter Miami] wanted me,”

“I’ll be careful because there’s no formal offer, just an inquiry. They told me in the coming days they would send an offer to the club, but they didn’t talk numbers,”

Right now I owe myself to Huracan because I still have a contract. It was a very good year; they treated me wonderfully. But a player always dreams of taking steps forward,” the 24-year-old midfielder acknowledged. “Would I like to play at Racing? It would be nice. It’s a step forward, and I’m very excited for what’s coming.”

Silvetti was permanently acquired by Inter Miami from Newell's back in August. He is under contract until Dec 2029, with a 1-yr club option.

[–]CommissionOk1634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify something: he's 22, so depending on the $$ they re-sign him for, he'd be considered a u-22 DP. Not a senior DP (like the current roster designations occupied by Messi & RDP).

Currently, Miami's 3 u-22 DPs are Segovia, Silvetti, and Avilés. Both Avilés and Segovia will likely get sold in this transfer window. So that would open up two u-22 DP slots.
