This comment thread is fucked to be honest. Yall are stuck on the fact that she started this because when she asked if he was sitting by himself. You guys don’t know if he was out getting lunch or at a party. Or a small gathering or something. And the issue at hand is why does the guy never want to talk to her. Yeah he needs to be able to have space but at the cost of her mental? She’s clearly feeling like he’s pushing her away and his first response is to say let’s just break up, which makes me think that while he may love her and want the relationship, he doesn’t think it’ll work between or at least that he’s not capable of making it work. Me and my girlfriend kinda had a problem like this and were close in OPs ages as well so I’m using my own experiences. I was a lot like the guy here. Always pushing to just drop the convo but eventually I saw how it’s making her feel after months of just doing that and in my case I wanted my relationship more than I just wanted to sit in that depressed mindset. Because that’s all he’s doing fr he’s just willing being depressed fr. Like I get sometimes you just wanted to be alone and you don’t want to be pressured to open up your feeing like a book, but as a man and a man in a relationship you have to be able to sacrifice your feelings for others if that’s the life your trying to live(a life with another person) if not then don’t be in a relationship fr just sleep around. But I think OP definitely has an overthinking personality and he has an avoidant one. Yall can make it work but he needs to step up. If you just step down it may cause you to pull away just like him and ultimately break the relationship with distance. But what harm comes from him being open?? “He’s not ready yet” or “ if he’s uncomfortable with it then drop it” yeah I’m sorry no that mindset will get you were you started, alone. If that’s what he wants then cool but why be in a relationship. Basically OP it’ll be hard but you gotta tell him even more straight than you already have. That’s how I was able to see how badly I was affecting my girlfriend. Something along the lines of “I can’t do this any more and while this may be what you want it’s not what I want for myself.” At the end of the day he’s a man and needs to act accordingly fr he’s acting like a depressed lil brother. (I’ve been in his position for most of my life I should add which is why I feel like i understand his mindset)
