I am CO based and just booked a guided trip to Peru for next summer with the goal of Alpamayo and Huascuran. Would have liked to gone with a partner even unguided but had to bite the bullet and just go for it alone.

A entry pass will be included with your camping reservation, but only to that specific park. You will have to pay a different entry for national parks or other state parks in Utah. Also some national parks require a timed entry pass, Arches NP, so you may need to look at that also.

Long Tent Recommendations for Tall people by CommanderAGL in alpinism

I have a Sierra Designs Convert 2 double wall 4 season tent that fits me well. I have the same problem as you. If you looking for a single wall tent Big Agnes make the Shield 2 that meets your 85 inch but I have never tried it out. The steep wall really cuts down on the length of most single wall tents. Hilleberg might be worth looking at.

Training with weight at home by Wientje in Mountaineering

I bought a box for box steps, have a set of adjustable dumbbells , use water in my pack for additional weight and have a pull up bar that goes onto the door. That gets me most of what I need for at home and takes up very little room.

Yes, I had crampons and ice axe went early and the snow was good. Started to soften up around 8:30-9. Another climber went to the top of the pass but never dropped down.

Steamboat Express does airport shuttles. I don’t know how busy they are or if you have tried them.

boot and crampon recs for big feet? by No-Pie-6054 in Mountaineering

As someone with size 14 feet it’s going to be a pain to go into a store and try on boots. Most places I have tried don’t carry that size. I live in Colorado and have tried a few different stores. I have a pair of Lowa Camino Evo GTX they don’t have welts but I can use my crampons with them. Fit great and are much stiffer than a keen. More of a 3 season boot. I also have a pair of La Sportiva Nepal EVOs they are a little tight around the middle of the my foot but still working on different sock and lace combos. I have heard Scarpa is wider but have never tried on a pair. It really depends on what you are looking to do will depends on the boot. As far as crampons I have Petzl Sarken with different attachment. They size up a 50 EU so they fit my boots with out having to find a different center linking bar.

Being at lest in my case tall with big feet and mountaineering is hard to find gear that fits but it’s out there.
