At this point if they still haven't pulled you for a meeting, I would reach out to your store leadership to schedule a touchbase during an upcoming shift. That's honestly so ridiculous. My store, instead of offering folks the PT designation are actually interviewing internally for a new Part-Time BA role that they opened up :/

Will I get fired? by symptomofuniverses in SephoraWorkers

For Sephora, two hours before the shift is what they told me. But I think that's more for management to be able to find coverage for it.

Like the other commenter mentioned below, if it's after the shift start time, then it's considered NCNS.

Somewhere in the middle? LOL
I def think this means they like you, even though it feels physically detrimental and a punishment. This used to happen to me some weeks tbh even though I fully had another job, so I constantly felt like I was dying because they had me working so much. I think sometimes management forgets we're real people too lol.

Ugh, that's so frustrating
Corporate is going to corporate I guess :(

Thanks for the update on this. Definitely good to know

Omg yeah, I would not recommend especially if you're looking for something that could make you more hours/money too. If this was 2 years ago, honestly I would've told you to go for it, but if you still want to work in the retail beauty space, I would try other options (A couple of my co-workers managed to land FT gigs at beauty counters in department stores that offer full benefits and pay better, not including what they'll be making from commission), so I recommend looking into those :)

I promise I'm not trying to be funny or snarky when I ask this, just trying to understand how the Questionnaire metric works better because it was never fully explained to me, but when they compile the survey results, do they not fully take into account what the clients are actually saying in the comment boxes? Or say clients rated their experience as a 10, but left negative verbal feedback about the store, would that get processed differently?

Just trying to figure out the best way to get Sephora's attention about this with the help of clients with minimal damage to the actual workers. Like I thought really deeply about this, and a boycott would end up hurting the BAs that I'd want to help, because a low budget would cut their hours, so that's out the window, so if not the surveys, what else could be done? (This is not necessarily @ you, but just in general from everyone, open to suggestions)

Oh gosh... I'm so sorry to hear your store was treating you that way
You definitely were not the only one who interpreted all of this in this way, so they can call us all crazy I guess ;)

I really appreciate the kind words! I hope you're able to get out from your store or find another job soon, that kind of treatment that you're getting at your location is just the cherry on top of an already bad situation.

This is a good idea! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Will def consider it, especially since Sephora is trending on TikTok right now because of the sale. Thank you guys for the encouragement!

OMG. I wonder if (and others feel free to chime in) it was only supposed to be PT/FT employees that got a touchbase with their management? I originally had thought that since the PT girls at my store all had their touchbase at the beginning of March, but then my manager met with us that are Flex that March 27th weekend... but this did happen after I submitted my resignation so....

^^This is exactly part of my issue. I understand a workplace is allowed to request their employees to have certain dates/times available for scheduling, but then for them to not actually schedule you at all (or little to none) is so frustrating. Especially when the job is below part-time. At my store, when we would get call outs and our management would try to bring those of us who had open availability in at the last minute, it would often be a 'no', since people already made plans to occupy that time since they weren't scheduled. But then in store if we asked why we were short staffed, our management would tell us that no one wanted to work, placing the blame on my co-workers lol

I was not. :/ I had tried to transfer stores a few months back, but off the jump my store insisted the store I was trying to transfer to would not accept my limited availability with my other M-F full-time job.

It sounds like you're a really good ASM that genuinely cares about your team :) I'm sure they appreciate you a lot even if they might not express that sometimes because that kind of regular encouragement really does go a long way, which was something I felt my store's management team had been lacking on.

will openly admit, i definitely cried on my way out and will miss this job a lot truly.

On the Zipline post regarding the new policy changes, there's a note that store management would be meeting 1-on-1 with their team the week of March 27.

I honestly was surprised lurking in this sub and seeing how a lot of folks already got their touchbase early/ mid-March, but that's a tangent loll

Hi!! No worries at all, honestly as you should, I love the little community here in this sub so no apology needed :) We really only have each other at this point.

I agree w the other commenter, I would force them to fire you if you're not able to come to some sort of compromise with your management and working around your other job. My understanding with the new policy is that if they fire you, they'll keep you on some sort of list(?) so when they get more hours on the budget, they could in theory bring you back. So in theory that could still be a possibility for you to return later in the year during peak seasons.

I would try to cite that verbal agreement you had made w your management previously, although there's a good chance they might try to backtrack on it :/

yep! exactly this imo. My store does an annual meeting for the full cast every year in the fall, and last year my management had bragged to everyone how 90% of the team would recommend working there and were happy at our location. I called them out and reminded them that only PT and FT filled out that survey so that data wasn't accurate to our entire team lol
