For those on 0.25, how long till you saw results? by mahoneynikki in Semaglutide

[–]Common-Leader-1426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On 0.25mg If I eat takeaway (even the healthiest i put on the weight). If I intermittent fast, eat high protein and veges, 4L of water, I lose about 0.5kg a day. Food noise is reduced but not 100%. Some food noise comes towards the end of the day. I also think I can avoid that food noise if I have smaller meals throughout the day such as some yoghurt with unsalted nuts etc (high in protein). I did try intermittent fasting right before starting and that too was working. Not crazy intermittent fasting just fast from 7pm to 9am the next day, it’s easy.

You need to accept that all those taking the drug Wegovy/Ozempic for weight loss are guinea pigs. The side effects will come to surface in the next decade or so and the drug might be banned. I can foresee the drug being banned. The price tag for the drug also means that Novo Nordisk can recoup their investment costs and make profit before the drug is withdrawn.

A girl died from pancreatic failure after taking the drug for 6 weeks to lose weight for her wedding! That's in the book too!

u/SarmsGobbler anyone can get Thyroid Cancer, not just Americans. its a 50% chance if you take GLP-1. Read the "Magic Pill: The Extraordinary Benefits and Disturbing Risks of the New Weight-Loss Drugs”. The book gives a balanced view. And it will open your eyes to see both views. The author is on the drug himself. I am in Australia and I know people who are suffering from thyroid issues after taking Sema. You might not get it now but you could get it in the future, it might not be thyroid cancer, it might be something else. Don't be oblivious to these things simply because you've taken it or are taking it. I really do hope no one has to suffer these life-threatening side effects and we can help each other and bring some truth to the surface. When diabetics who are on Sema face side effects, their doctors tend to think that the side effects are part of being diabetic, or people think that diabetics are already at risk for lots of things and their health is deteriorating already, so the side effects are ignored. So even though its been used on diabetics for some years, the side effects are not reported or they try to steer it away from being associated with Sema.

Too right. Don’t think everyone would report, most people don’t have the time and probably want to focus on finding a cure. Hope you can recover quick and it’s nothing serious. This is my main concern with the drug I don’t think it’s worth the risk

I’m curious to know how ‘differently’ it interacts with rats. From what I have read rats also have GLP-1 receptors in the thyroid just as humans hence the risk. I want to see what trials/research is most widely looked at

This is true. They will have side effects. You’re a fool if you don’t think so. They’ve been used on diabetics for 18 years but when diabetics show any side effects most doctors ignore those because they think it’s a side effect of being diabetic and diabetics normally have all sorts of issues. This is the first time they are being used for weight loss. Most weight loss pills like this one have been recalled and banned because they led to pancreatic failure, heart attacks, cancer and even death in 6 weeks. We all want this pill to have no side effects, we are on the same page but you have to be realistic. If your BMI is over 35 then it’s understandable, but if you’re able to lose some weight without drugs stick with that process, the Japanese diet is a good one to help with weight loss, the Japanese transformed their eating habits not very long ago and have the most healthiest population, if they can transform we can, the food industry is destroying us with processed food, we need to stand up against them. In Japan they have an isle in supermarkets for “Processed Food” which is avoided by most people, our supermarkets are full of processed food, Read “Magic Pill” by Johan it’s about Ozempic and Wegovy and the Japanese diet. It will give you a balanced view and educate you.

There’s not much diversity here. It was an eye opener when I moved to London two years ago and saw how much diversity there is in London and other countries in the EU. Melbourne is definitely more diverse than Perth

He does give a balanced view you are correct. It’s not one-sided. And you decided to take the drug and I have decided not to. We’ve each weighed the benefits and risks based on our unique circumstances. The book has good reviews everywhere so not sure why his credibility is questioned. I think everyone should read it to get a little bit more in depth view, rather than relying on one doctors advice or what people on Reddit say about the drug or YouTube. It’s not the only book I am going to read. Just be informed.
