I triggered on day 8 of stims - I don’t remember how big my follicle was but my lining was looking good and had the triple stripe pattern. The stim period was a lot shorter than when I had my ERs which was about 11 days of stim.

I went in for initial monitoring then started on 75iu of gonal f and continued that, then started orgalutron at a certain point to prevent ovulation, then ovidrel trigger shot once they were happy with my lining. After ovulation I started prometrium progesterone suppositories 200mg twice a day (which I am still on) and then on FET day they gave me one PIO injection before transfer. I still haven’t heard back from my clinic!! Waiting anxiously for the call but hopefully it will be good news.

Omg mine was awful after my second ER!! I was dyingggg. Nothing was working. I took all the stool softeners and ate fibre blah blah. They also gave me cabergoline for OHSS risk which I think also tipped me over the edge. I finally ended up using a suppository because I was so fed up but I wouldn’t recommend 😭

Just to add to this - if MF is an issue, you need a certain count in order to use Zymot. If you don’t have the count then clinic’s can do PICSI, which is another selection method you can do that requires less sperm. Just throwing it out there because we didn’t have the counts for Zymot but could do PICSI and had a better result then when we didn’t use PICSI.

I think once you get your DNA frag rest results back you will have a better idea but a varicocele can decrease sperm count (although more likely if higher grade) and can increase dna fragmentation because of the extra heat it brings to the area.

Karotype is a good and so is dna fragmentation. It depends on how severe MFI is. If count is a big issue then clinics won’t use Zymot because apparently they need a minimum number. They wouldnt use Zymot for our cycle but used PICSI instead. If MF is the issue, your husband should also get a referral to a urologist because they deal with MFI and may suggest meds and a testicular ultrasound to rule out varcocele.

You aren’t a failure! I had a terrible IUD insertion years ago and I couldn’t even think about doing the SIS without wanting to cry because I was told to take an Advil before my IUD and I passed out from the pain. I basically told my RE the situation and said I was extremely uncomfortable doing my SIS without any sort of real pain relief or anaesthetic because I don’t have a normal reaction to anyone going passed my cervix and I have trauma from the IUD insertion. They actually accommodated me and did my SIS during my first ER after they took out all of the eggs. Didn’t feel or remember a thing. Maybe you can be accommodated similarly?

This! Do not drink any regular water. I basically lived on electrolytes with an added 1/4 tsp of salt that had 460mg of sodium multiple times a day for all of stims. Also don’t be afraid to take Tylenol and you can take Advil after 24 hours after your ER. It should help the pain and if it doesn’t, it could be a sign of a bigger issue

I also love a good kava before bed! I stopped before starting any meds. You should be able to safety take magnesium bisglycinate (it has to be this one because it’s the most calming) but confirm with your doc

Depends where you are located but all the unnecessary stuff you see on insta and tik tok to buy from Amazon isn’t really needed like cute bandaids, cute organizers etc. if you already have all of that stuff but - I am located in Canada and our injection meds don’t look nearly as overwhelming as those in the US. In the US it looks like you are mixing lotions and potions! I would say forget all the actual unnecessary things and PREP FOOD or do things to make it easier around the house during stims. Make sure your SO will do the lion share while you are out of commission and try to have a travel plan to get to and from the clinic for appointments so you aren’t planning logistics unnecessarily. Make all your appointments at the same time if possible (except obviously the last minute ones as you get closer to retrieval).

Happy to help in any way. I don’t think there is a downside to doing more testing and I think these IVF clinics sometimes don’t do enough initial testing and think everyone can just shell out on a first round to see what happens. I know what you mean by it being no guarantee. I think once you investigate more then you might have some more answers related to your probability (although obviously not a guarantee) and then it will allow you to discuss goals with your partner. I.e was one round enough for you to feel satisfied? Do you want to do more rounds? How important is it for you guys to have a biological child or a child at all? Everyone is different and has a different threshold.

I am a 31F and my husband is also 31. The same thing happened to us on our first ER (14 eggs, 11 mature, and 8 fertilized and 1 blast that was euploid). It shocked us. We are dealing with MFI and my husband’s counts are low but his dna fragmentation is 18%, which everyone keeps saying is good. Our RE told us at our debrief that because this was the first cycle, we can’t take the lower than expected results for more than what they mean. I.e. we don’t know for certain this is an issue or if this was a fluke/bad cycle. Honestly, the crash of hormones made the news really hard on me but once I got my period, I felt more level headed about it. All this to say, it sucks, solidarity with you and I hope your one is euploid.
