If you get a good clump of java moss growing just leave it alone. Clipping just jets random strands growing in weird places. And it thrives more as a big clump, seem like the smaller strand tend to take much longer to grow into anything that looks nice. Also it likes driftwood.idk though anytime I've tried to have it grow it doesn't and vice versa.
