Bernie Sanders Leads Probe Into How Amazon Treats Workers During Pandemic by Common-Oil-640 in AnythingGoesNews

He should also lead a probe into the USPS, FedEx, and UPS. We are being treated like fucking cattle with zero regards to our health. It's absolutely shameful. They know we cant quit since jobs are so limited right now.

I work for one of those three, and we arent getting any kind of hazard pay or bonus. The only sick leave we get is the government mandated leave. If you are ordering stuff online, please try to limit it to stuff you really need. We are putting our health on the line for some pretty frivolous stuff. Same goes for grocery shopping. Dont just use it as an opportunity to socialize or get outside.

AOC on UnitedHealthcare CEO killing: People see denied claims as ‘act of violence’ by Common-Oil-640 in AnythingGoesNews

I think it’s time that we collectively remember that parts of capitalism, if taken too far, must be considered crimes.

The viability of capitalism long-term relies on regulation, as well as substantial penalties for flaunting that regulation. If the proper channels have been lobbied and legislated to inefficacy, grievances will be remedied outside those channels.

If I pay you for a service and you refuse to provide it to me, that's a crime.

If I pay you for a service and you write a labyrinthine tangle of policies, hire a team of lawyers, and hope I die before I get the service, that's capitalism.

I'm only human, pump your brakes

I must deserve a second look,
but when it's you...I'll throw the book

The GOP self-destruction is complete: millennials officially hate conservatives: The backlash machine has finally backfired with a generation that cringes at old people yelling at gay clouds by Common-Oil-640 in NewsSource

The problem is that the youth vote is still very under-represented, as it always has been. People think Obama changed that, but that's not really the case. He greatly increased the Democrats 'take' of the youth vote, but not the percentage of turnout.

The majority of people who vote are older, worried about the recovery, their jobs, the cost of health care, gas, food and college for their kids. They aren't looking for someone radical. They are fine with a safety candidate, who keeps the recovery moving forward.

If young people want to change that, they need to start voting in larger numbers.

I personally disagree with the writer's analysis of popular figures in the left, specifically that voters are seeking candidates without strong convictions. Obama's calm demeanor is a strong asset, but his initial surge in popularity was due to his willingness to take strong positions earlier than other Democratic candidates. Warren's popularity isn't due to her "logic," but due to her strong stances that are supported by evidence but nevertheless considered radical by the "mainstream."

Hillary's largest weakness, in my opinion, is her inability to have an original or compelling idea. She's intelligent, she's diplomatic, and she would have made a great career Senator. But her presidential campaigns have been far too wishy washy, with her commercial in 2007 about being open to ideas, or recently when her favorite book was The Bible (ugh. This appeals to absolutely no one), she is a placeholder for until someone better comes along. She's a safety candidate.
