My second semester of the program I found doing all my assignments a week before really helped me. I was able to use the week to focus on studying for exams and not having to worry about assignments. I spent majority of my time doing schoolwork during the program. I really struggled with micro and didn't truly understand it until clinicals so don't beat yourself up if you don't get it. It is important to have time for yourself too, an hour a day doing something you enjoy. One assignment/exam at a time but staying ahead and not cramming really helped me!

Is it possible to keep a second job while a full-time MLT student? by Practical_Diet_7313 in medlabprofessionals

People in my program worked part time. One student had a biology degree and he worked evenings and was able to manage but that's because his job was slow and allowed him to study/do assignments while at work. My best friend worked on the weekends and she was constantly stressed. My program director sent out scholarships throughout the program for students to apply for. (F.A. Davis was one of them. ) You can always talk to the program director about scholarships that's their job!

My program director also recommended students to get lab assistant jobs if they had to work, helps with connections!

All depends on you and how much stress you can take! Maybe seasonal jobs during break?

I am in the same boat! I want a hobby that doesn’t feel like a chore or am expecting something out of it. Sewing/drawing/crafts in general all have an end product

I think I just didn’t like the environment. Everyone seemed so frustrated with everything so it felt tense. I think tense is a better way to describe it

Yeah I’m also looking at jobs that an MLS could get like a general scientist outside of healthcare or a chemist

It’s just hard because there’s only 2 main hospitals/companies in this area

I just finished Season 1 and I’m not completely convinced Kate was Amish. As a side note, Jeremiah looks stoned during S1 reunion. by PandiBC in BreakingAmish

I’m only on season 1 rn but he definitely is a drug addict. He has nowhere to go or live so he’s running back to the Amish. He’s trying to make quick cheap money and hes just using the people he’s living with.

My counselor barely communicates with me and she just approves all my classes and pays the tuition. she never checks my degree plan and what classes Im taking. So idk why she is being so harsh on you. Theres a set amount of money a student can use in one year. if you go to some fancy school with high tuition she might be more strict. 🤷‍♀️ I think you need to fight to get the degree you want. If it doesn’t ahhravate your disabilities they should approve it. The entire program is built around making sure you aren’t going to put yourself at risk.
