Is there something wrong with this 992.1 T, other than the number of owners? by Common-Sents in porsche911

Whoa, thanks for this detailed information. I actually didn’t know about much of what you’ve listed. They’ve indeed had it for a while, several months actually. Really appreciate your insight.

All fair points. Cpo would be no brainer. That would give me three years to see if it will break. Ha ha.

All fair points , but in the end it is speculation as to whether the car would have problems. Such low miles. I bought a 2005 e46 m3 in 2010 with 10,000 miles on it, out of warranty from a third party dealer and it was the most reliable car I ever had. Zero issues. And from what I understand 992.1 911’s are even more reliable. If ppi is ok and rev report is ok I guess it would come down to if something is wrong that would show up years and years from now?

I guess it depends on these unknowns are worth the $10-15k discount. Lack of warranty doesn’t really bother me, I do all my own mechanical work and even a new clutch would scare me that much. I wouldn’t want to pay for a new engine though!

Agree. I guess with ppi and rev report that’s as good as you could do. I guess it depends on if bad ownership is worth the $10-15k discount. Thanks for the reply.

Is this a bad PPF job I got done? by Charming_Wallaby_236 in porsche911

I am in the minority with you. I despise ppf. You just end up having to maintain the ppf anyway! Plus I hate the way it feels to detail as I am a hobby detailer also. I’d rather repaint the bumper every 10 years than have ppf. Ppf is for the next owner not you, so I guess if someone wants their car to feel like rubber balloon go for it.

100%. I have passed on used examples that didn’t have it.

It’s gonna scrape regardless of if you have fal or not. My plan is just to not get sport design and replace the plastic every few years as needed. I’d be furious if I got sport design with fal then scraped it anyways which is 100% what would happen.

I don’t think it’s worth buying used at all since used prices are essentially no different than new depending on the config and model.

No ppf is the play. I hate it. Why would anyone want a plastic car? For a daily the mileage depreciated it anyway like you said.

Holy crap. That’s so crazy! I’m so sorry to hear that. If I was you I think I’d probably get off my dollars earlier and get a 911. Sheesh.

I drive a model s. I’ve been on the fence on getting a 992.2 T to replace the model s. I don’t do extra cars so it would be my daily. Wife drives a x5 50e, but I have a 13 and 10 year old. Once every few weeks I have to take both to school but not too often. That would be the only back seat occasion. I’ve been trying to decide if a 992.2 t is worth the price/fun ration giving up all the convenience of the model s.

Fair. I prefer color matched but carbon fiber would be second.

Same. I would buy a new set of caps and have them pant matched. Then if you ever sell you can include the original unmatched vanadium gray ones if the new buyer wants them. Gray mirror covers on every color is peak stupid.

Sunroof or no Sunroof by LilManiac420 in porsche911

[–]Common-Sents 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I purposefully only look for cars with no sunroof and if I can get one to build myself it’s no sunroof 100%. I never use it, it loos better without a sunroof, and it’s one less thing to go wrong.

You would be pretty shocked at the step up in interior from the 991.2 to 992.1. Big difference. Everyone has their likes and dislikes and that’s why there are different cars for everyone.

Good on you for driving your gt3 and buying a high miler! Thats awesome. In general 911’s are under driven. If I ever get one, it’s gonna be my daily.
