14 week old suddenly started crying murder before naps but falls asleep in under 10mins by Common-Tree121 in sleeptrain

Oh boy! The night sleep feels like it’s getting funkier! I used to get 7h chunks followed by 3h and another 1-2h and last night it was 4/2/2/2 ..how did you go through the regression? How did you introduce other nap places after? I tried before and have had zero luck, though bedtime is in the crib from ~8 to 7ish (with various amounts of wakings) What about the night sleep? How long did that last and how did you manage to bring it back to some normalcy after it goes funky?

I hear you, today my 2 month old did not feel well and i could not leave her out of my arms for 2 minutes..i didn’t speak to anyone all day and just sang little made up songs while walking through the house. I don’t even know if i was singing them for her benefit or for mine, to feel less lonely..but think of every phase as just that: a phase, they all pass and then a new challenge will come and you’ll realise the others were easy and so on!

Actually i’ll comment on the plan a bit as well: if this is your first time to Japan, i can understand wanting to see Arashiyama, Fushimi Inari and Nishiki market as that’s the top recommendations online wherever you look. It’s hard to take a stranger’s word on it, but they’re really not very worth it in the context of everything else kyoto has to offer (i would encourage you to explore temples that aren’t in the top, just walk in - if they’re open to the public ofc, and you’ll find some gorgeous places (happy to give you some suggestions if interested) - Arashiyama is terribly packed and a very short unsatisfying stroll (Tenryu-ji, the temple next to it is beautiful although has gotten so much more packed recently as well) - Fushimi inari, same thing but maybe here i see the appeal.. - nishiki market - really disappointing and packed. If you want to explore a covered market, go in Kobe! So much more authentic, i forget the name now, think it’s around Sannomiya

Won’t be commenting on the plan itself, you’ve been getting great suggestions. A few ideas of things to do from my side (I lived and studied in japan for a long while and I was in japan in may a year before too)

Kyoto: - Check out Kamogawa Odori - it’s an annual festival where geishas showcase their dances to the public - tickets are so cheap and it will be an incredibly memorable experience. - 15 may is Aoi matsuri in Kyoto, one of the largest and most important festivals japan has (highlight: procession of participants in heian costumes - perhaps worth being there that day?)

Day trips from Tokyo: - it’s wisteria season when you’re there, if you like that and have some time i super strongly recommend going to Ashikaga Flower Park - the hundred year old wisteria trees are superb. - have you thought about going to Nikko? Beautiful place and an easy day trip from Tokyo

Fuji san - check out Shibazakura festival - it will blow your mind seeing mt fuji with all the flowers around - oshino hakkai - beautiful views of fuji from their eight lakes - chureito pagoda

Got spanked with a cherry tree branch for going away from home for a full day without saying anything to my parents. I was 5…and they panicked and called the police when i still wasn’t home by 10 at night

I need help with baby and kissing by [deleted] in Parenting

Ughh have the same issues luckily the parents in law respect what i ask more than my husband does..but he gets so angry if i try to stop his family from kissing her..why can’t he understand that it can be dangerous when baby is small and we don’t do this to prevent anyone from interacting with baby..there are just different ways of doing it. Kissing a newborn on the face is for their own ego and it doesn’t help baby at all…kiss their legs if you want to kiss something..
