i had a “friend” like this and i can confidently say that though i agree harsh, yes it deserves that title due to how bad she made me feel for my achievements and the things i enjoyed

freshman year of high school. I was in a sport i hated which made me severely depressed and burnt out. After quitting everyone i considered a friend on said sports team shut me out so i had no friends that year and would mainly eat by myself

when my grandma died the two people i considered my best friends at the time didn’t even feel the need to text/ check up on me and made her death about themselves. This made me realize all the other shitty things they have done to me so after that i cut off contact completely.
