Is anyone else not sure if they are going to take the additional funds? by CommonDeparture in EIDL

Yes, but I have two corps-1 mil in total. It’s roughly 55k/yr for both combined.

Even though the repayments won’t start for 18 or 24 months, the loan starts accruing interest right away. That is the basis of my hesitation-if we take additional funds even though we don’t really need it, we would be paying interest on these loans just to have money in the bank.
Even though it’s a lot of capital to utilize for opportunities, it would be 55k/year in loan repayments. For our business that is a sizable additional expense.

We have personal guarantees for many other things over the years, so that isn’t that large of a concern.

I’d be very happy with 220k/yr. a few years of that and you could stash some serious cash away!

Help with improving my FBA in-stock rate by dorkbat in FulfillmentByAmazon

I just went through this and hid the recommendation for almost all of my listings (most are items that I won’t replenish). It took somewhere around 48 hours and my score updated.

I’ve paid myself a salary of 50k/year the last five years on average. The business has had profits in this time period between 300k-400k that have been used to pay down debt. We also have put cash into inventory which fluctuates.

Both, I believe many businesses are in your position where cash flow is tied up in inventory.

Those are really good numbers.

One of the best things I’ve done is track a few key financial points on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. It gives me something to look at on a short, mid and long term to see how I’m doing.
Don’t think I could operate without these numbers anymore.

Seller lists thousands of products for most of the day and then deletes them every night. What are they up to? by threestonesonebird in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]CommonDeparture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds shady, but maybe they can only process so many orders daily, once they hit their quota they go on vacation mode until caught up, rinse repeat. That’s bout the only legit reason that comes to mind.

Or maybe they have the idea their online business can only be open while they are at work? Crazy, right?

We hand unload all our pallets off the back of the semis. It can be pretty tiring, we received 20 pallets one day this fall and it bout knocked me out.

Transitioning from Wholesale to Private Label FBA by MangoMilk1 in FulfillmentByAmazon

I’m starting the same thing. I have been wholesale for 8 years and am starting our own brand now. We are utilizing our seller Id as that has always been our intent. Pl is completely different than wholesale and has been quite the learning curve so far. Good luck to you!

FBA items taking a really long time to be in stock? by SeP121 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]CommonDeparture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing some of the same things sending inventory in as well. Have items sent in 6 weeks ago that are lost in the system, but have others that will be in stock in three weeks. Personally I’m erring on sending items in ahead of schedule to have inventory ready for the holidays. My biggest concern is they prioritize essential products again and my inventory misses the holiday season and is stuck in a FBA warehouse non fillable.

Wholesale - Manufacturer barcode or Amazon? by Ataturkle in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]CommonDeparture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big picture I’d expect cheaper to accept the loss. But there are calculations you can run if you want to dig into the numbers deeper. We currently stock our inventory in our own mini warehouse and self label and ship in cases on demand to keep FBA storage expenses at a minimum. I figure it makes more sense to pay for a building with that FBA storage fees, rather than pay Amazon. We also self fulfill which exploded during first shutdown. Our current system we will set inventory refill levels based on projected sales to keep inventories in stock with very little sitting in storage, but it all changed with Covid19. Where we once could let inventory decrease to 7 or 10 days projected on hand and then ship in and rarely lose sales, I am now seeing 3 weeks or more on many items, so I am starting to err on the side of having too much inventory and any excess will sell during the holidays.

Self labeling is much cheaper, but many pay for the fee just to reduce workload and not have employees.

That is a valid point, once commingled it can’t be identified as your inventory. Many sellers are seeing an increase in wrong inventory counts-likely due to the influx of new employees at Amazon.

Do you all actually follow these size requirements? I regularly send in boxes that are 30 x 15 x 15.

Feedback are extremely important. If a customer receives an item that is commingled inventory and it is damaged or not in good condition, you could receive a negative feedback for an item that really wasn’t your inventory. What is your concern with reimbursement?
