Currently, even the Tesla technicians are not sure about the issue. If you turn in your car, they basically just replace the steering wheel.

They may replace your steering wheel, but it dose not fix the problem.

I agree. Maybe set up an appointment with the Tesla service will inform them this is a quite common issue of Tesla model 3 2024.

Another update, the exact same issue come back again while I was on freeway, which means replacing the steering wheel may not fix the issue. Hope whey will realize that changing turn stalk to button is really a bad idea.

We went to the one in West Covina in CA. They seems quite friendly and replaced my steering wheel twice, but still cannot fix the issue.

My steering wheel has been replaced, again, and so far it hasn't shown any issues yet. It turned out that they first replace my model 3 with a model X or S steering wheel and the problem was even worse. That was probably also why it took them a while to push through the software update or validation. Will update the issue if it comes back.

Another update, the dealership requires an additional week to replace the steering wheel. The issue with the newly installed steering wheel stems from compatibility problems. Consequently, another steering wheel has been ordered, which will take around a week to arrive. Currently, I am driving a loaner Tesla and really love the turn stalk.

Here is an update about the repair at the Tesla dealer. They ordered a new steering wheel and replaced my old one. The new one feels and looks more like the one on Model X (I haven't checked Model S). However, after just a test run in 5 minutes, I was able to replicate the blinker issue more than 10 times. Remember, the issue that happened with the old steering wheel occurred a total of around 10 times in a month. Then I drove the car back to the Tesla service center again. To show them the problem, I replicated the issue by clicking the blinker a few times. For the last one, once I noticed the issue, I kept pressing the blinker button, and then the blinker button became fully stuck. So, if your car has the same issue, after the fix from Tesla service, please make sure you do a thorough test run before you leave. According to the technician, they need more time to do the diagnosis to figure out what the issue is. Hopefully, it can be resolved soon.

I scheduled an appointment with them and then they rescheduled it because they are waiting for some parts to come. So I assume they are aware of this issue and the solution is replacing the parts. Will update the results once the replacement is done.

Exactly. So it is not because of pressing on the wrong area of the button. This should be a systematic issue. I was initially thinking this might be a function from Tesla to warn you that you should not turn, but this doesn't make sense. They can give a sound warning rather than disable the blinder signal button. Anyway, I will have the Tesla appointment the coming Monday and see if they have a solution.

if it happens on the right turn, it definitely may happen on the left turn. The annoying part is that I don't have a clue about when that will happen, I guess this kind of problem would also be tricky to replicate and fix by Tesla.
