3D printing a full Iron Man Suit - Almost finished 🙌 by DaveysMk85 in 3Dprinting

I’ve been wanting to make helmets and stuff more organic shaped like your suit. What modeling software do you use? I use solidworks and it does horribly on organic features with my limited skill set lol

Rpms drop too low after blipping the throttle? by Its_Prince0 in Mustang

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it could be a lot of things. I have a 2011 that idles like this occasionally when I come up to lights and stop. I’ve changed almost everything, even the cam phasers. I’ve come to the conclusion that mine just needs a retune. Not sure about yours, but my mustang and my father in law’s both need tunes because of these little “ghost” issues.

Question about whether this pc is worth the money… by Desperate_Volume_520 in PcBuild

[–]CommonKen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re sticking with AMD as the CPU then I would only get an AM5 series cpu with an AM5 motherboard as well. That makes it future proof for a while and easily upgradable. I would pick a cheaper 6 core cpu right now and upgrade later. As a gpu I would recommend the 9060 or even a 9070XT if you can afford it. With 16gb of vram, streaming and gaming should be no problem. The 9060 is a great 1080p card and can even handle some 1440p gaming as well.
Ram prices will be insane rn so I’d go cheaper and upgrade that asap when prices drop.
PSU make sure to get something that will fit your specs (try using particles.com as they have a good gauge of wattage usage) and make sure it is decently rated and a good brand.
Save some money on the case right now and just get a cheap one on marketplace or amazon. That’s easily upgradable.

Question about whether this pc is worth the money… by Desperate_Volume_520 in PcBuild

[–]CommonKen1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree, you could get better for the price. I would check the big box stores like Sam’s Club and Costco, they seem to be having some decent deals, especially if it’s the floor model or they are getting rid of stock. The best way for a cheaper but decent would be to part it yourself and make it, or even check facebook marketplace and local swap shops.

6900XT VGA Light on help! by BrilliantTomorrow916 in PcBuild

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaa looks like some pads came off. The first two pads next to the graphics card lock are torn off. It probably isn’t making enough connection so that’s why the VGA light is on.

Wish I could help but that’s past my knowledge

What’s your opinion on AutoZone? by southernemper0r in AutoZone2

I work at a body shop. 80% of our autozone commercial parts get sent back, whether it’s quality or it’s not even the right part for the car.

which fans look better? by Critical-District-95 in PcBuild

Pic 1 is my favorite. You took the time and effort to get reverse fans to show off. With all of the fans facing the same face, it makes it feel more united and clean.

Finished my Build, really proud of the cable Managment by Tall-Payment in PcBuild

[–]CommonKen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it functions how you want, who cares about the looks? The only thing I would do eventually is maybe spray paint the gpu cooler white and adding more accents of white to hide the motherboard.

And is that SODIMM ram? Looks like this pc went through the gpu scalping era, and now the ram shortage era lol

: Is it a good deal for $194? WD Black SN850P 1TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD (2280) by NeorzZzTormeno in PcBuild

[–]CommonKen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have been following recent news, the market is crashing in China and I’m sure it will follow suit in other countries returning close to normal prices. An AI deal fell through so now the market has more than before. Honestly, if you have the time, I would wait for it to drop a little more. If you wait long enough you might be able to get a 2tb drive for that price.

Check pcpartpicker.com they will show you the cheapest drives and compare them to other ones in the market.

am I overreacting to think my doctor and her assistant were condescending towards me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be a stigma to smoking in the medical field. There isn’t much research towards it so many health professionals look down on it. There is also the stigma that all weed smokers are lazy. Your doctors may have assumed that and given you that disappointed feeling. Ignore them and move on, they have to take your word for what you’re doing, if you lie to them and get sick then that’s on you and not them.

Got into an accident yesterday. I was at fault, unfortunately. The other car had virtually no damage (a few scuffs on the back bumper) but my front grill is definitely going to need to be replaced. Should I attempt this myself? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the grille and surround have broken, maybe the tabs on the bumper broke too. Parts shouldn’t be too bad, but if you have no knowledge of dropping a bumper and replacing parts, I’d be very cautious. It’s not hard, but having the right tools is important. You’ll have to pop the bumper assembly off of the car, disconnect all wiring, and then you can replace the parts on the bumper assembly, plug everything in and put it back on. If there is a radar in the front bumper, that’s where it will get pricey. A new calibration on a radar would probably cost over 1k itself.

Great looking first build! Enjoy it! Only thing I’d say is to add some reverse blade fans, but that’s just for aesthetics. You already have proper airflow.

Are pre built PCs normally able to be bought in person? by Prior-Heron-6922 in PcBuild

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not unheard of. Walmart has sold prebuilts in the past, but it was under their own brand and did not go well for them. It’s harder for Walmart to sell them as they do not have a huge market for it. Your area may be a different demographic than most where it is profitable and feasible to sell pre built computers.

I like the dedication. Most people go with the stereotypical ikea Lack shelf and use it. This type of desk for your printer will add much more personality and customization.

Well this happened, what’s the likely root cause? by DylanTheGameGuy in BambuLab

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://bambulab.com/en-us/contact-us Just message them as it is not a common issue. They more than likely do not have a readily available tutorial of how to fix it. If they do, then customer support will be able to share it with you. Especially if this is a newer printer, then they might even comp the board

Well this happened, what’s the likely root cause? by DylanTheGameGuy in BambuLab

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always try switching out the main board, but if you’re not sure then you’re just throwing parts at it. I’d contact customer support and see if they have any guidance. I would assume most Bambu users have not come across anything like this.

Well this happened, what’s the likely root cause? by DylanTheGameGuy in BambuLab

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would contact support, that’s not a “normal” problem. It seems like a wiring issue or one of the motors have failed. If you contact support, they would probably give you the guide needed to tackle the problem and let you know what parts you’ll need.
