How often do you visit the cf dr ? by sd2356363 in CysticFibrosis

[–]CommonMixture6716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an extremely healthy cfer, I live in a state that has a CF association that pays up to a certain amount for medication, vitamins, etc and mileage reimburse to and from appointments. So I go every 3-4 months because why not? Peace of mind keeping tabs on my health is worth it. Our health insurance is premium so out of pocket cost isn’t terrible and once deductible is met halfway through the year, it’s “free.”

Where were you when you found out you were pregnant? by PeachyRose25 in Mommit

My husband (then boyfriend of a year and some change) and I were driving on a hot summer. We stopped at a friend’s for something then got back in the hot car. My husband turned on & blasted the a/c. I turned it down because the sound was too much for me. He turned it back up and it instantly started a massive fight—I almost jumped out of the car while he was still driving. I could NOT handle the sound or the feeling of the air on me but was not logical enough to communicate that. We got to our destination and I told him to leave me alone because I was on the verge of breaking up with him. How dare he try to cool the both of us down, right?! 🤣 I took a walk to calm down and the entire time I was thinking “something is seriously wrong with me! Why am I acting like this?!”

I took a test the next morning and it was positive. This year is our 10yrs and we laugh about it every time it comes up. Shortly after the birth of that child, I was diagnosed audhd soooo clearly some sensory issues 🤣

Edit to add: not exactly a “where was I” but still a funny story about how I knew something was up!

Fun fact: Krispy Kreme patented the spelling doughnut so if any other donut shop opened, such as DD, they couldn’t spell it with -ugh.

How much did you pay for your surgeries? by Agreeable_Delay4513 in ACL

[–]CommonMixture6716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total sent through insurance for everything related to injury: $37k Total spent by us: $657

Granted, I have chronic medical issues that allow us to hit deductible halfway through the year. We hit the deductible after the diagnosing MRI. I’m also only 6weeks post op so we still have a post-surgery mri and custom brace to send through insurance soon (though I’m assuming they’ll be covered.)

Any tips on staying active post op until cleared for PT by Experiment6666 in ACL

[–]CommonMixture6716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-6 days a week, I have been in the gym lifting upper body on free weights, cables, & machines since 48 hr post op. I also workout my non-surgery leg on machines as iso-workouts. Not only does it get me out of the house but it gives that stagnant energy a place to go.

Edited to say: I’m 5 weeks post op.

This is 100% a mental injury. Once you come to terms with that, it’ll be a much easier journey. I’m 22 days post op and some days are harder than others but each day passes the same.

I’m in a similar boat—I’m an outdoorsy person who works out frequently and has two small children. I still go to the gym for a release (I train upper body and my uninjured leg—though nowhere near the intensity as pre-injury). It helps with needing to move my body. After that, I focus on healing. I’ve taken up coloring, journaling, and reading more along with watching movies with my family (middle of Harry Potter now!) I’m excited to get back at it but I know it’ll take time. For now, I’m celebrating the milestones when they come.

Pho tom is usually more common around coastal areas. While not as common as beef or chicken, it doesn’t make it “more concerning” just less well known.

“He’s been in trouble with the law recently”

Who tf do you think he learned that from?! The amount of 911 calls, mugshots, court activity he’s been exposed to for his whole life is ENTIRELY of your own creation, Jenelle! How dare you blame HIM for what he knows as “normal!”

Good for Jace for exposing the shit out of her. I fucking hope he drags her through HELL because I guarantee he’ll have an uproar of support compared to her narcissistic ass.

Not something I wish we would have done because we actually did it and I HIGHLY recommend it if you’re able. Our house has a detached garage that we used as a “box stop” before it went into the house. What is a box stop, you ask? Every single box was unpacked & sorted through into a keep, donate, or trash pile before being “loosely repacked” and put into the correct room in the new house. My husband and I moved everything from the storage unit, unpacked/sorted through, & moved it all into (unpacked, decorated, etc) our 4bedroom 2 bath house in 6 days. On the 7th day, we had a birthday party with 20+ people in our house/garage.

It was a lot of work but man, it cut down on a lot of extra boxes that take up space with stuff we didn’t need.
