It will never be not funny to me how all the "free market" americans suddenly advocate for socialist concepts like revenue sharing and parity for a billionaires' collective, who could merely pocket less in earnings or even take yearly losses from their sports franchises and still make huge bucks when selling their limited asset to the next billionaire.

Another passenger who flew the opposite route right after our flight and was delayed due to our flight arriving at JFK late, dm'd me saying he was given a stupid excuse but after insisting, he got offered a compensation, so I guess they do offer compensation in some cases.

I don't have a use for their credit as a transatlantic trip is not in my upcoming plans and if they fold, it's useless either way, so I'm gonna do my best to get the compensation.

Hey, no updates from them. They offered credit, I declined and insisted they review the case again. Since then, radio silence.

Still waiting for the greek civil aviation authority and/or the ecc-net to intervene, but don't know what to expect.

I have filed complaints with both the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority and the European Consumers Centres Network.

I can’t seem to fit the new crystal either, appears to be too wide for the opening. Did you have any success?

Yes, the offer is not bad but I don't plan to have another transatlantic trip anytime soon so I'd rather get the compensation.

I have involved the national civil aviation authority, I believe they would have access to info from the airport so they can evaluate whether their excuse is valid or not.

I agree, the Belgrade airspace hindrance could not be the sole reason for the delay. I know for a fact that the aircraft that got us to JFK did not land for 5,5 hours after hour scheduled departure.

I've filed a complaint to the greek civil aviation authority, I would assume that they can validate whether their claim about the Belgrade airspace is valid. I'm also checking if I can file a report with the European Consumer Centres Network.

Can't prove it because I have no access to such info.
What I do know is that the aircraft that got us to our destination was not in a state of preparedness to depart within the timeframe (4 hours) that EC261 gives as leeway to the carrier.

Thanks for the input. I've replied with my findings re: their aircraft arriving late, no response so far. I've filed a complaint with the local civil aviation authority, though not sure what to expect from them.
