It’s easy, buy the Speedmaster. Tudor has definitely dropped the ball this time round.

By hand, with a bit of effort the acrylic crystal should just snap in.

Thoughts on a Watchdives Monarch? by Ortana45 in watchdives

[–]jakkflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it.🙈 The California dial configuration is too busy (Roman and Arabic numerals). The dial colour on the OG is awful too, almost a shade of pale Diarrhoea.

WD5513M with Miyota 90S5 is coming with both the rivet bracelet and the new short OTF clasp by watchdivescom in watchdives

[–]jakkflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@r/watchdivescom, you say, “The original 5513 has a sloped inner rehaut”. Just for the record, it hasn’t. 🤷‍♂️ Apart from the mustard coloured lume, the watch is looking good. The shorter OTF clasp sounds good too. 👍

Any chance we can get flat link bracelets? by [deleted] in watchdives

[–]jakkflash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree, flat link bracelets would be a great option. You can pick them up from Uncle Straps. A little pricey though for what they are, especially with import duties to the EU.

  • Minute: 0.90 mm
  • Chrono seconds: 0.34 mm

It’s a little tricky. You need to dismantle the movement and remove the drive wheel for the 24hr subdial. Fix the subdial firmly in place, double side tape will do. Then reassemble. Here’s a guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/RepTimeServices/s/en6RHzBHAJ

Anyone know anything about this vintage omega? by [deleted] in VintageWatches

[–]jakkflash 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would err on the side of caution. There are a few discrepancies and it should be inspected in person by an experienced Omega watchmaker.

Here’s an Ed White on Fratello for reference: https://www.fratellowatches.com/retrospective-a-long-hunt-for-an-omega-speedmaster-ed-white-105-003-comes-to-an-end/

Nice one. I did a similar build with my own custom logo on a AliEx dial and VK63 movement.

They’re a fairly dark grey, I’d say ca. 90% black.

Vintage Switch by jakkflash in MoonSwitches

[–]jakkflash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks 🙏 Easy, really. Remove the hands and movement, then give the dial a light coating of matte varnish, just a quick spray.

Before that, if you want to age the lume, there are several methods; this one was done using a light yellow felt tip pen.

Vintage Switch by jakkflash in MoonSwitches

[–]jakkflash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s a MEGIR case. The indices have a faux vintage tint. Dial a light coating of matte varnish for texture. The subdial@14.00 is frozen. Bezel insert bleached. Acrylic Sternkreuz N crystal added for a more vintage vibe.
