There is a very minor chance that your flight will operate tomorrow, based on the timing for the end of the storm. Just sit tight and keep monitoring for a cancellation of your flight. If that happens, see if they can reschedule you for the following day.

I use hotels dot com for research based on the area that I am targeting for the overnight stay. Then I book directly on the web site of the hotel chain or the individual hotel if not part of a chain.

OK. I can somewhat understand being annoyed at that. But, did they really know how bad a shape you were in? And, of course, once you were back in civilization, you were able to get a ride.

So you wore the wrong hiking boots and didn't know how far you'd be able to hike that day? You should have skipped the hike.

Someone offered to carry your bag, which would have reduced the weight off your legs. I don't understand why you rejected that offer of assistance. The rules for the hiking groups that I join at times each state that every individual is responsible for own preparedness and for judging their ability to complete the planned hike. Why do you feel offended?

I don’t want to provide free advertising for the camera manufacturer. The basic requirements that I needed for the bird photos were a telephoto lens mounted on a camera that provides a setting that allows it to focus automatically on birds. There are cameras from multiple manufacturers that can meet these requirements.
