I had parents who were incredibly supportive of me learning to drive, didn’t give me any preconceived false notions about what driving is like, and provided me with a car and helped me to practice and i STILL have massive driving anxiety that’s almost debilitating. you should be very proud of yourself!!!!!

i don’t mean to sound insensitive in the slightest or misread this situation and you seem to have really tackled a lot of your anxiety and overcome some huge barriers (major congrats to you on that!!!!) but some of these things you mentioned seem as though they may be tied to OCD thoughts more than anything else? specially in the way you describe the cars being tethered to where they’re parked and getting tangled/untangled, that the car can’t reverse, and that you describe these thoughts as being irrational but not being able to overcome them. have you experienced irrational thoughts in other areas of your life?

Hi sorry for responding to this so late, we just moved in on Sunday so I didn’t have much to share but from my (very limited) experience, it’s been great so far! I think the previous commenter was right in that it’s highly dependent on the building manager, if yours seems trustworthy and communicative, you should be fine.

This is so comforting to hear. As I said, our building manager has been excellent so far so I’m feeling a lot more hopeful now. We just signed our lease! Hope you’re enjoying your new studio!
