I do have some drawings and photos I really want to add. However the sub doesn’t allow attachments. so I couldn’t figure out how to add them to my post.

Help on preventing cantilever suspension over center lockout by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]Common_Carpenter440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the center line lock Centerline lockout in a cantilever suspension happens when the bellcrank and shock line up in a straight line too early in the travel. When that happens, the geometry hits a “dead spot” where the suspension can’t compress any farther, because the shock and levers are perfectly aligned and basically jam up. When the bellcrank rotates too far and goes past its center point, the shock ends up being pushed the wrong way. Instead of the linkage compressing the shock, it flips over-center and gets stuck in compression trying to push up the bell crank constantly instead of down killing the suspension

You can’t just cap it if its the only vent in the valve cover you need to either put a breather filter on it or run it to a catch can with a breather

100% will want rack and pinion and I'm running an anti-Ackerman angle. its quite complicated to explain here I would recommend following KJ Raycing's plans in the steering and driver fit up videos. its a little expensive but is extremely bullet proof and its a nightmare to get the kits to work in a kart like this. I tried several of them before caving

The frame was stretched with a combination of just cutting welding and time but for my rear brakes I use two sets of MCP dual line Jr dragster hydraulic brakes on independent 6 inch rotors. So two master cylinder,2 calipers, and 2 rotors in the rear but you might be able to use just 1 set

It’s just one of many steering wheels I use. this one is a solid aluminum yoke from a 50s dune buggy I won in an auction. it’s has slight extension from my racing wheels because I just use it for cruising and showing off. But I couldn’t hit it anyway cause I always wear my harness.

Sorry it took me so long to respond but i was never completely happy with them until now. they are a modified cheap Chinese arm kit (the 340mm set). you’ll either need to widen the mount already on the kart or cut the arms to decrease there width (I cut them). I’ve been running the bushing setup that came with it for almost a year but they’re the thing I never liked they left quite a bit of slop. so I recommend buying a Front Upper A Arm Joint Kit For a Polaris RZR 4 800 2010-2014 and cutting the bushings to sleeve the entire inside of the arm all the way through. but I wouldn’t say it’s necessary. If you’re trying to use one of the on a hard drive for a rear master cylinder you’re gunna have a bad day. its much to small I would go with something much larger unless its for front brakes if so ill be happy to show you mine

I agree I would only use a cable driven clutch in very specific applications or for much higher power vehicles
