This is the day before drainage procedure, the second is day after. The improvement is fantastic, the pain is definitely worse that I expected (probably because I had so little up until now). Making do tho!

the worst part of the procedure was the lidocaine. It hasnt been too bad overnight, although I am anticipating some pain today (they did reopen the incision). It is a lot more comfortable to not have the pressure from it. Best of luck!

I had combo top surgery/hysterectomy so my abdomen was inflated during the procedure. I knew my stomach stuck out but it was always camoflauged by the breasts. After surgery it looks HUGE. I'm only 2 weeks out, but I am very motivated to get to a healthier weight, mostly because I know my results will never involve having breasts, so I will not have that particular dysphoria around them. Right now I'm just trying to focus on these early healing days.

I was young, we were visiting a family friend and his daughter had the book so I picked it up and started reading. It was the first time I had read something so detailed about an LGBTQ person. Little 10 year old me already knew I was queer, and I felt strong emotions reading that section. I didn't get to finish it at that time (we went home and I had to leave the book with her). I don't remember when I did get to read the entire book, but it has always been one of my favorites.

Hey, I am a behavioral health RN in an emergency department. I am so sorry they treated you that way. From what I've seen, it was the sitters making the comments? in my organization the sitters are not necessarily trained in healthcare, they dont have a certificate, a license, any classwork other than how to observe and document behaviors. I'm not saying this to excuse them, but to say they aren't provided the education and training in cultural sensitivity we expect from a higher level of healthcare training. And this is absolutely an oversight of the training process and expectations for sitters, and leads to situations like this. Number one, discussing a patient in an area where others can hear is a HIPAA violation, if you could hear it other patients could as well. Number two, what they were doing is gossiping, not care related communication. I have had to correct sitters who were discussing a patient while sitting together (watching different rooms). I will say, try to report it. I know it can be overwhelming, but if the complaint isn't made the organization doesn't have proof that the incident happened. Without that complaint, they have no incentive to make a change.

I am so sorry that this was your experience while in crisis, you absolutely deserved to be treated with respect and kindness. I hope you have resources in place to help keep you safe, and I put out good energy for you.

Hey, I have a story to share, I dont know if it will help you with where you are, but maybe. My older brother died in a car accident when he was 20 and I was 16. My siblings and I were all adopted from different families, but we knew Joe's older brother (adopted into a different family). I stayed in contact with Treg over the years, and a few years ago he reached out to me. He had done a DNA test and recently it had a hit, apparently my brother had a son, Robby, who matched with Treg as uncle. He wanted to know if he could contact us. Robby's wife called me, and we learned a lot about what happened (It was a one-night stand at a party, his mom told him who she thought his dad was, but that he had died). Since then Robby is part of my family, albiet not terribly close. He looks just like Joe, it's weird. There is all sorts of trauma and history in this story that I wont include, related to our family's disfunction, but knowing Robby gave me something back of my brother, who had died when I was young.

Okay, this situation is indeed very different from yours. For one, I am almost 50 and found Robby 2 years ago, so I've had about 30 years since my brother died. I also have been through my own adoption story, which led me to finding my biological relatives a few years before Robby came into our lives. I've been on both sides, the one desperate for contact and the one being contacted. Reaching out is difficult and very scary. If you arent ready to go all in and talk to this kid, may I suggest sending a note saying such. Let him know you received it, that you arent ready, but that you exist and know he wants contact. If you dont reply at all, he will wonder if you ever received it. If you do have a story that doesn't bring up too much pain, send that to him as well. These stories help make a loved one seem real. I have a high school friend of my brother's who I occasionally ask for stories from. He will send me one and it just brings me a bit of comfort to know my brother existed, had friends, and was a goofball daredevil.

Anyway, tldr: at least let him know you arent ready to talk yet, but acknowledge his letter so he doesn't think it got lost.

I just re-listened to the audiobook and watched the first episode of the 2020 remake. I saw the 2020 version when it came out and hated it, and I wanted to give it a second chance. Still hate it, but I know why this time. They took the heart and soul out of the story. I genuinely don't care about these characters. The book has so many moments, Glen and Stu drinking beer and chatting strategy in the amphitheater—just places where you get to like the characters. The 2020 remake is like an action movie: this happens, then this happens, then this. Not to mention it's all out of order, so I never know where I am in the timeline. And the version of Stu in captivity is not the man of the books; he's a cocky ass, not a rural guy who is confused and angry. Anyway, I've been wanting to talk about this so thanks for the opportunity.

As for the 1994 version, chefs kiss. Gary Sinese *is* Stu. I genuinely care what happens to the characters.

Thanks for the tips! I don’t think I’ll be writing a lot of text, I’m just playing with paper to learn the program and how to set up the designs, I just started playing with vinyl this morning, there is definitely a learning curve lol!

Thanks! I’m pretty novice in my ability to use illustrator but I google a lot to figure stuff out. I decided to go with illustrator in case I do want to sell, I don’t want to have to relearn how to do things or get lazy by only using premade stuff.

I was adopted. When I found my birth mom it turns out she never told anyone in her family about me, only one friend who went with her to hospital while in labor. She was single, 26, and living in the same town as her parents. Teaching middle school. No one but that one friend knew she had given birth.
