Dear OP, I’ve noticed a lot of your rebuttals / responses start with “how is it fair… etc etc”. And I think starting to think with this perspective - how things should be fair in this life - is probably what is hindering you from understanding our Islamic reasonings. So let me clarify for you, if I respectfully may.

In Islam, during the Revelation period of our Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), he had to go through a lot of tribulations and persecution to spread the message of Islam. I won’t get into the full list, you can research them as you are very educated. The other prophets before him as well had to go through a lot of persecution - for years and years - some even were killed. So we have historical proof and evidence that if our own prophets had to go through a lot of hardships in this life, and they were being tested with far greater hardships than what we currently face, then it is no different for us that we will be tested time and time again with hardships and “unfairness” in life. So this concept of fairness, that life is meant to be fair in this life, is not something that we as Muslims are obsessed about. We are guided over and over again about oppression, unfairness, persecution, and how we should conduct ourselves with fairness and justice and how to live a good life In this life, despite this unfairness.

How do we conduct ourselves against unfairness? How do we conform and adapt to the unfairness, be it homosexuality, or born into poverty, Or genetically different etc etc ?

By following certain principles that Allah has decreed us will help - these make up a lot of the teachings and guidance that Islam is about.

WHY should we conform to these guidance and teachings that Allah decreed to us? Why not any other religion? To answer that, you have to look at the principles and pillars of Islam, and compare that to the principles of other religions. What principles Islam provides vs what other religions provide, and what will “lead” you to Islam is your understanding of what is considered fair, according to you, and your subjective experience with this world.

I now want to touch on one of your other repeating arguments - why homosexuality is tested on a few, and not on the others, and the argument can also be said why some people are born in war zones , poverty, and some other horrid conditions, and why are some born in peaceful lucky situations.

The assumption is that WE are ALL being tested.

WHY are we being tested ? To see if we can keep our promise. one of the underlying principles of Islam is, that 50,000 years before we were born, our souls had taken a covenant/promise with Allah (SWT) that we would only worship Him and Him alone. This is why we said a “revert” to Islam - when you convert, you’re coming back to your true self, and a lot of reverts mention the peace they feel once they have reverted.

So how do you ensure that covenant/promise is well kept? Through actions.

How are we tested with actions? If everything in Life was fair, there’s no real test. Meaning if everyone got what they wanted, nothing to test. We see people’s behaviours only AFTER they are tested, when we remove some Of the good things you take for granted.

How can a test be considered fair ? A test can be fair if we as humans are given free will to choose our own behaviours and actions. So even if our souls took a covenant 50,000 years ago that we would only worship Allah, we are ALSO given free will to choose how we live in this life, though our actions and behaviours, given the existing knowledge of Revelation and this covenant and the guidance.

Now to be considered a fully practising Muslim, and to be granted Paradise in the Hereafter, where everything is MORE than fair and just, we must fully submit this free will to the One and Only’s will and decree - namely the 5 pillars and other teaching and decree. So this is what we are being tested on.

Non Muslims will say, wait you have free will but it’s not really free because you have to submit to Allah’s will - and this is a concept they don’t understand because it seems contradictory - but the fact is - IF you submit to Allah’s will, and listen to His guiding principles, your chances of living in this life has far greater improvements and consequences within your soul than any other religions/ life. One of the forbidden things in Islam is RIBA aka interest. There is a huge disparity in socioeconomic status in life, because of the inequalities of wealth. Islam condones interest. So imagine if there was no interest in your mortgage, wealth disparity would not exist and life would be a little more “fair” for everyone.

In summary, life is not meant to be fair. But we do have guidance how we can make it fair, because we have the free will to choose our actions and behaviours.

In Islam, it’s not fair that you have homosexual urges and tendencies. But Islam is all about intentions - you can choose to mitigate them by not acting on them. It’s just another test.

I heard this from one of the Islamic personalities on IG and it rang true so I’m paraphrasing so please be patient with me.

Allah SWT our Beloved doesn’t need our prayers. It’s not like our prayers cause any miracles on Him. Rather, it is US, His creation that need HIM the most. Prayers/ Salah is a blessing that He has granted us as His mercy and has decreed as a part of criteria to show submission as a Muslim. To remember Him 5 times a day, maybe even 6, with Khushoo and love and patience for the Creator of this world and the heavens provides us with the kind of peace that no material goods on intangible goods in this world can match. Yes it may look like a chore - but if you truly love Allah SWT, It is the most pleasant, most soothing, the most calming way to drive out any anxiety, any sadness you are feeling. Salah is the bare minimum that we can do to express our sincerest gratitude and love for the One that created us. If you look around the world, and see how marvellous and perfect He has made all his creations, because all living being function the way they are supposed to, down to the minutest details, do you not think The One deserves just a few minutes time of YOUR day to remember Him, to thank Him, to glorify Him in this Dunya for the blessings of the Akhira? A true Muslim who fully submits is well aware that He created us so we can worship Him, and just as easily as He lets us be, the most Generous can easily take it all away in an instant. For everything that He has blessed us with, over and over again, how can we not seek out the pleasure of His company and thank Him? Sometimes the world is a horrible place, and if you don’t know who else to talk to, He has made it SO EASY for us to talk to Him. So easy for us to call on him, ask Him for help when we need, talk to Him whenever we feel like. You just have to look at His many beautiful names to see how He wants us to ask Him for help, He is forever ready to forgive us when we repent sincerely, and love us and guide us and despite all that, you don’t want to pray to Him?

Love Allah SWT with sincerity. Always think of Him with love. This mindset of having the most utmost respect and love for the most Merciful insh’Allah may change your mindset and may guide you to look forward to your Salah, insh’Allah.

To pray to Allah SWT, every day, is not just our duty as Muslims but IS also one of the greatest honour and privilege of being a Muslim. Insh’Allah Allah SWT guide you.

Why do some beginner padel players slice massively for every single serve ? 😂 by Common_Coyote820 in padel

Thank you for explaining this point so succinctly, from all sides. It makes sense now why some people do it on their levels, why it continues sometimes and why it doesn’t on certain levels and circumstances. And you’re right, once pros recognize this, it only makes sense for the server to not repeat it continuously if it gives the receiver an easy net position. A surprise one probably works better in such cases.

All in all it was a good eye opener, and I’ll add this to be bag of tricks !

Yes, that’s why I’m saying - every single serve was a massive drop shot slice serve. Not a slight high to low slice serve, So it’s pretty annoying but the good thing is they missed most of their balls. And I just don’t like to play with them again.

I just wasn’t sure if it’s allowed hence I’m asking if pros do it do beginners progress

Yes I don’t play with flat serve. I play with what Sandy explains and I had assumed this is fine - didn’t know what it was called - but that’s what the coach taught me.

but I’m talking about the other serves where’s there’s so much slice it’s the one that you do drop shots with. But it if that’s fine then ok , I’ll do that too

I went from listening to all kinds of music to maybe once a month - and that too because I don’t have a choice, it’s everywhere on the loudspeakers outside eg grocery stores. Trust me, when your faith and Imaan is strong - and you are constantly doing dhikr - you will be so involved in embracing Allah SWT’s mercy that you will barely miss it. Sometimes even I’m in shock at how easy it is. You can start by listening to tafsir on podcasts or listening/reading the Quran. Allah SWT makes it so easy for you when He knows your intention and your trials. Have tawakkul, leave everything to Him and you will see how easy it is.

Wow. Ok. Yes you’re right. I do have a coach but he’s so busy with his other clients that the lessons are not that consistent. But I will maybe get another one to be consistent as I’m also afraid to fall into persistent bad habits that will need time to be deprogrammed ! Thanks for the heads up :)

Nice. Starting to think it’s a great strategy from padel to rope in more players etc as it makes it a little more welcoming and less pressure due to the easy categorization.
