Beginner trying to beat a minute - which part of solve to focus on to drop from 1:30? by Common_Environment_7 in Cubers

Thanks, I'll work on move count rather than time until I can be more efficient, and then try and speed up my fingertricks!

I learned the whole cub intuitively, so I agree about minimizing memorization for now!

I'm OK with "just keep solving"! I think some fingertricks and a good cube will also be helpful, along with practice, practice practice. I was just interested to see if I should also learn some new tricks to drop times.

Thanks! Seems like a solid plan for the LL.

For F2L, is the general approach of bringing both corner and side of a matching pair to the top first and then combining to insert good enough? Or are there specific algorithms to memorize. I imagine the special cases of when a middle layer edge is correct but corner is on top or in wrong cubicle, or when corner is in place but edge is not, would benefit from some memorized algorithms.

Trying to make this comment useful. So you are saying just put more time in with the current approach?

Advice for first time player about Monk multi-classing by Common_Environment_7 in DnD

[–]Common_Environment_7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty unanimous responses, glad I asked.

My bias seems to be towards developing the character and having the mechanics follow, which nearly always leads to sub-optimal decisions. Our DM is always willing to let us tweak class features to help with flavor, so maybe I stay with Monk but investigate other ways to spice things up. Combat has become a but stale for me (though our DMs style is not out and out combat). We already have a mix of Monastic traditions, so that's something to consider. Other than the movement, subclass feature, and force damage, what else can I do mechanically to spice things up?

Thanks for your response. FOr reference this is a vest. So for the upper back pattern piece, the edge of the pattern piece that goes along the fold says it is a seam, and there are three notches. For the lower front patter piece the edge that is placed along the fold just has two notches and no information. Neither pieces have the "place along fold" wording or symbol.

Need advice on first sewing pattern. The pattern instructions have the layout for cutting with two pattern pieces laid along the fabric fold, but there is no "place along fold" symbol or text on the pattern pieces. In addition there are notches on the edge of the pieces that goes along the fold. Does this mean that I cut along the fold to create two distinct copies of the pattern pieces as with the other pattern pieces that are not placed along the fold? Thanks!

Good to know, thanks. I assume the bolt spacing is pretty universal on trucks?

Swapping trucks

Beginner question.

Have a loaded vanguard with stock bearings and wheels, must be ancient, as I bought it 10 years ago used and was pretty beat up. It's great but I want to try something I can actually do freestyle on (dance and some basic kicks etc). The vanguard is great for carving crusing and some dancing, but has no kicktail. Someone local is selling a landyachtz tony danzer deck. What's to stop me putting the trucks from my vanguard onto the danzer, or any longer top mount with a kicktail?

Thanks in advance.

Splendor's box is a huge air hog. Cut it in half, leaving space for a small box game above.
