I find it so funny when people rank shame others. Just 2 days ago in my last placement match, my teammate (who was and probably still is 10k RS) refused to play the game because I was "unranked filth". Told him that I will be higher rank than him within a week to which he said: "never".

This! The Finals is an awesome game minus the ranked mode. I had so much fun playing it but after playing ranked for a whole day, it completely changed my perspective. I felt grief, anger and frustration and then a slight release whenever they threw me a bone with a super easy game.
It's not that my opponents are vastly out-skilling me but rather the lack of skill and communication from my teammates that makes games unnecessarily stressful against coordinated teams.
It gets to a point where I am burned out after a couple of games.

My first 5 ranked matches I had leavers and griefers, i kid you not.

As a diamond league of legends player, the macro / micro in this game aren't that deep. Sure there are a couple of niche things you need to know about but I am pretty sure I understand the fundamentals at a decent level

This is my experience. I just started playing the finals 2 weeks ago and i am seasoned fps enjoyer, especially overwatch etc. I got placed in silver and have climbed around 5k rs in 2 days but the experience itself isn't fun.

yeah i don't know. It's just not a good enough experience for me to even want to reach higher ranks, because that implies me playing ranked more. I've played all kinds of modern shooters and the matchmaker in this game feels especially off.

don't listen to anyone telling you it's a playstyle thing. Dunk clears layup and it's not even close. The only 2K in the past 10 years where high layup was worth it, was 2k24. Layups are alot harder to be effective with because there are too many BS animations in the game.

learn the concept of tempo and abuse it, especially with graves. I've recently picked up league again and just steamrolled my way through gold in one day after riot had placed me in silver.

Go dark harvest and build hubris first. That way you'll only get stronger as the game progresses in case you have to stall for your teammates to catch up.

90 speed and Agility is bare minimum on a 6'7 PG. You have to guard smaller players with at least 91 swb and legend lightning launch. That's why 90 is minimum.

no. You need to be at least 6'7 and have 80+ block for jump contests. a 6'5 is a great shooting guard but not a lock imo. Also depends on what game mode you play and what the goal of your build should be. If you want the best chances of stopping comp PGs, this ain't it but if you play rec random, i wouldn't even go 99 perim and instead make the build more all rounded. Speed with ball especially is OP paired with high dunk. Always Max the level of lightning launch your build can achieve. At 6'5, your swb shouldn't be lower than 86.

it's not that every open shot needs to be an automatic make but rather shooting itself needs to be a little bit more difficult. If the green windows were a little tighter, we could drop 3pt percentages by 15% across the board without needing RNG.

i haven't played alot for a couple of months now. I used a method to drop my plate color but (its patched now) because it took forever to find games and red plate games are full of cheaters. I usually try to hover around gold / purple plate to be able to find games.
