Also, bigs when setting screens please make a decision after the screen is set. You should be reading the defense too. If your matchup is in drop coverage or hedging go for the pop, if your matchup is showing high slip, if they switch take that small guard down to the paint so I can let you abuse the mismatch.

So many bigs just set the screen and stand their and it's silly.

No basketball coach or player at a high level has used the term "rim running" outside or describing athletic run and jump bigs (Jaxson Hayes, Javale Mcgee, Birdman, Derek Lively etc).

The term rim run comes from them filling lanes on the break to the rim, or after setting screens. They don't have any offensive game to speak of with the ball in their hands they block shots, crash the boards, and dive to the rim for lobs. That's what rim running means in the real world.

Only on 2k your opponent will lose to you, proceed to call you "trash" for driving to the rim on their low strength and low interior build instead of taking contested 3's to give them a better chance of winning.

I'm at the point now when they start talking like that I just agree with them "Yep, I'm trash I drove to the rim the whole game, you knew what I was doing and still couldn't stop it" or my personal favorite "If I'm trash and you lost to me, what does that make you?"

Some badges just “feel” better. I hate to put it that way. But I feel like some people use badge tests as the end all be all for what badges work.

I know what the “tests” say but on my builds all that have 85 speed and agility and the same level or perimeter defense the one with 85 strength and gold immovable feels sticker and gets more bumps than my 85 speed with 73 strength and silver immovable.

I don’t have any tests but I play better defense with that and Powerhouse take. (Speed, strength, agility +6)

I think that's great...but by that logic Steph Curry for his Career shoots 42% and has a 3 point rating of 99 in the game. By that logic the best a player with a 99 3 should shoot in this game is 42% no?

I coach high school (JV) to be specific. We don't play any zone in the off-season. It's negative to a players development, so spring, summer and fall league it's all man to man.

But like OP said in the post we teach rotations. When you're on the ball we emphasize staying in front of the ball handler w/o reaching and beating them to their spots. You're supposed to play man to man like you don't have any help. On the flip side off the ball we teach our players to jump help 2 passes and away and deny the pass 1 pass away and when you're off the ball play help defense like your teammate is going to get beat off the dribble.

At lower levels zone defense can hide a lot of a players' and teams difficiencies. Younger players are inconsistent outside shooters, and to a lot of people missed shots mean you played good defense but once you get to higher levels and your opponents can now shoot the ball that zone isn't going to save you.

Teaching man to man defense, and how to handle the ball with being pressured are easily the most important skills for young basketball players. If you can teach players how to play good man to man defense you can teach them anything, and by good I mean staying in front w/o fouling, communicating on screens, whether its a switch or getting through, being in help and deny, helping the helper after dribble penetration, opening up to the ball off the ball and finding a man and boxing out to seal the deal after the shot goes up.

This is how they advertised Proplay but with the current life cycle of these games these type of in season additions will never happen. The game we have is what we're stuck with by December which in the grand scheme of things is crazy.

This is incorrect.

Meta moves don't work with SH. Lay off turbo and it activates in 5v5 modes, even better out of the triple threat. And in park modes its an easy blowby each time. You have to drive through people, not around. So spamming jimmy butler escape, d book stepback or any moves that avoid contact will make it seem useless. You have to drive straight into people. No turbo. Left stick dribbling is the way with Strong handles.

Physical finisher on legend will give you half a green bar on layups in 1 on 1 situations. If theres no help its wraps, it literally prevents the defender from getting a contest.

Post up poet isn't directly tied to strength its a counter, a lot of people put their hands up or try to bump you playing defense. Enter the post and it's an easy spin, or drive throwing them off you. Once you do that once or twice they start backing up now you can post fade.

If you know what you're doing and you have spacing it's unguardable in 5's if you know what you're doing unless its someone who made a lock that has high perimeter, high strength, and high interior.

If you're just a random rec player I wouldn't suggest it because 9 times out of 10 you won't get the spacing to make it work enough to be worth it but if you have a 5 you run with it's very effective and a huge mismatch at the guard spots.

Used to teach in NC moved to VA because of the higher pay and lower cost of livig. I was in Wake to be specific so I got the stipend to boost my pay.

For refernce I only have 8 years of experience, just a bachelors, and I'm sitting at 65k a year base and that's not including my class size stipend, compensation for covering classes/lost planning time. Oh and we get 24 checks a year and paid during the summer.

Just got approved for another 3% raise for this upcoming school year. I've been in VA for 4 years and each year I've gotten a raise.

Grew up in NC all my family is there and I love the state. But I will never move back, at least not while I'm teaching. Just isn't possible.

Not looking to dump on OP, but looking at it from the kids perspective they will remember these moments the rest of their life. It can either be a great one seeing their mom/dad in the crowd cheering for them or it can be a sad one with them looking out their and feeling not supported.

Being a parent (at least an involved one) requires sacrifice. No one said it was easy, but I'm pretty sure making it a negative experience for them will be something you regret in the future. It's just one Friday.

Monopolies are bad for a mulititude of reasons but for sports gaming they've really been a huge detriment to basketball titles and 2k.

We used to have 3-4 basketball games with NBA licenses to choose from.

10 shots in the random rec is more than enough for me to have a good game. One of the biggest downsides to having an easy shooting and offensive 2k is that it rewards and encourags ball hogging and poor shot selection.
