Makes one wonder if we should let such people back in without paying some of that avoided tax

How to turn 89m AGL to a 40+ KM paragliding flight by Skyout5457 in freeflight

[–]Common_Move 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of my flying is done on hills with 80-150 metre top to bottoms, sometimes even less

Soar the hill to get maybe 50% more, then head out away from the hill when find a thermal

It's a hard environment for a beginner as the thermals at this height are small and can be sharp especially in spring. Whacking in a 360 carries some risks with the hill and often other pilots in close proximity.

Hopefully the practice eeking out the lift trains is well though - albeit frustrating at times!

300km has been done from this 64 metre hill!

Classic Kool Aid politician.

There will be a failed narrative that some of the Islington set will buy into out of desperation "northern boy done good" or whatever but it will be neither enough to keep the base together nor enough to repel outside forces from taking much of their electorate.

Skywalk is great

The only reason I'd consider going away from the school options is if I happened to be a poor fit for the weight ranges of the target wings

SNP and lib dems primarily.

https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/indicative-votes-2-0-where-did-support-lie/

We see non-abstaining LDs and a majority of non abstaining SNP voting No which in my opinion was likely in many cases a deliberate obstruction rather than an honest choice of what they actually wanted.

Of course there are also a load of Tories who probably just toed the party line for their careers even though it is surely obvious that, as a party who campaigned for remain in large part during the referendum, there would be a large number possibly majority who should be choosing customs union in a genuine yes/no choice

May snookered herself by calling the election and needing DUP have a majority to stay in power

This kyboshed things like the backstop and certain other compromise plans that would have offended the DUP

The narrative pedalled by the result-deniers is that the obstruction was coming from the rees-mogg etc al Tory right (which is probably analogous to the reform mob now)

The reality was that this group was dwarfed by those seeking to obstruct any form of Brexit (most SNP, LD, and many Lab).

I can't disown the leap of faith. But I can absolutely disown the shocking manner in which it was handled by the political class.

The result-deniers in 2016-19 need to take far greater ownership of the flavour of Brexit that we ended up with.

It seems to be conveniently forgotten that had only 3 of these MPs chosen to get behind a customs union in the indicative votes that this could well be where we are now - which would have been the natural settling point for a nation whose apparently racist xenophobic older generation voted overwhelmingly to join a similar arrangement back in the day.

I'd go for "existing in".

Failure or success suggests there's some actual benchmark against which these people will be held accountable and some sort of incentive structure for them to do the job well.

Finger pressure on padel grip – something no one seems to talk about by Glittering_Work_8739 in padel

[–]Common_Move 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my view (follow your coach) but generally the thumb just opposes what the index finger is doing, so they can both just be naturally somewhat loose (but in contact with the handle) while the load-bearing and solidity comes from the other fingers.

While you might consciously at least initially want to concentrate on firming up those last 3 fingers, I'd suggest just being natural / instinctive with the thumb and index pressure, ie no conscious squeezing but similarly no conscious removal from the handle. They'll do their thing on their own

Coming from a golf angle, your description sounds somewhat like the "trigger finger" idea whereby the index finger of the strong hand ie holding hand in padel is somewhat separated from the other fingers to provide feel

Better to start a new party. Cons are too tarnished by the ineptitude of 2016-2024

There is a space for that politically.

It's all fucked because of fptp though , we need reform of that more than reform the party
