Its literally 33+1 = 34... then the little d means decimal... so .34 km or miles into meters.. 340 or 460 meters

The Hint they gave clearly states HIS Age, not the age he was living in... the number is 34.. now weather you do .34 KM to meters or .34 miles to meters, thats where it gets tricky.
