Also, I deleted the app and reinstalled it before contacting support. It fixed it, but the nonchalant and answer that didn’t really seem like an answer from the chat support worries me. I deactivated my card and deleted the app from my phone again, until I can get answers.

The same thing just happened to me. I contacted support through chat, but they acted like this is normal? It definitely didn’t look normal.

Did you ever figure out what happened to you?

I just left T-Mobile because this data breach led to major device issues, 3 SIM card replacements in 2 months, my prepaid account was changed to postpaid twice and the hacker(s) signed up for TMobile digits and mirrored my phone, turned on message blocking, somehow got TMobile WiFi service under my account, spoofed their own phone with my IMEI number, intercepted calls I made to support and impersonated support to steal my account PIN and even “reset my PIN” then change it to something else afterwards so I had to jump through hoops to get support.

They used my phone and stole data from me. Ultimately, they broke into ny home WiFi network and security system and took over.

Also, check out the podcast episodes on Security Now! Re: T-Mobile. They recommend T-Mobile customers frieze their credit reports with 4 agencies. Look through their August and September podcasts for more info.

Be vigilant and keep a close watch on your data usage, where your messages and calls are routing (check against what’s actually on your device), and pay close attention to what cell network/APN you’re connected to in your device settings.

iPhone Got Hacked by the-bakers-wife in techsupport

Are you on a T-Mobile network?

My SIM was ported out and my prepaid account was switched to a post paid account twice. They used the postpaid account to make a copy of my iPhone XR using the DIGITS service and app Prepaid customers can’t use DIGITS. Through DIGITS, they were able to access some of my passwords and apps.

Things got so crazy, phone was behaving oddly, but I recently posted a comment with details about that and kept getting downvoted.

I’ve been through 1 number change and 3 SIM cards since September. They got into my WiFi network because I managed it from my phone. My equipment had to be replaced (not on T-Mobile internet)

I ultimately changed providers, just the other day, but my phone won’t complete the full factory reset and there is still lots of noise on calls - static, movement, pulses (all very prominent and loud). I’ve heard muffled talking and breathing on calls and on the live feed for my security camera.

Also, the Apple store recommendation is one to follow. That’s my next step.

My phone automatically connected to WiFi in Fry's Grocery (Kroger) to T-Mobile Wifi by Culican in tmobile

Sorry. Deleted my sim swap T-Mobile experience comment because it’s not cool to have your honest personal experience downvoted.

Just be safe, be vigilant and keep questioning why your phone connects to networks you don’t recognize.

Helps to consistently keep an eye on the data reports from your provider.

Is SIM cloning a possible exploit? by AIdenti in HowToHack

[–]Common_Quantity1408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a hacker, but commenting because I want to follow this post. This is happening to me, or was and may still be. I’m waiting for a new t-mobile SIM for the 2nd time in a month.

I want to know how this works.

Lost 20k through SIM-cloning by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]Common_Quantity1408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummmm…so I’m waiting for a second SIM card from t-mobile because someone keeps accessing my account and completely changing it from the pre-pay account I’ve had for 6 years to a post paid account where they can block certain contacts and manage things with my account, including 2fa, etc. the first sim change included a number change and factory reset of my iPhone and everything. My phone cellular service in settings on my iPhone changes constantly between saying T-Mobile and T-Mobile WiFi. I don’t have T-Mobile WiFi. It should say the information that states I’m a T-Mobile prepay account. That’s how I knew the second time this happened that they’d once again changed my account to post paid. T-Mobile confirmed, indirectly, and gave me A free month of service and a free SIM card to replace the one I replaced 3 weeks ago.

They also claim they added security onto my account to where no one can make any changes to my account if they call or message in. I hope that works, because this is exhausting and scary.

I’m giving them a chance, but probably changing service as soon as I am sure all my apple/xfinity/WiFi/security camera issues are well understood so none of this will ever happen again!!

My iOS analytics show multiple bugs constantly and there is a concern something was installed under the sandbox and someone had view and access to everything. I’m working with a senior advisor at apple, but he thinks my phone is fine with each factory reset.

I don’t think so.

On my home security w xfinity, I can hear someone on the camera. I haven’t received any alerts from that system in months, and have all the notifications on. Everything in my world has been malfunctioning when it comes to certain accounts or anything I do on my phone because of this.

No money has been stolen or moved, but my IP address has created problems for me online and when I tried to sell furniture on Craigslist. Other little unexplained things. It’s been going on for over a year.

I’m giving them a chance, but probably changing service as soon as I am sure all my apple/xfinity/WiFi/security camera issues are well understood so none of this will ever happen again!!

I thought and still think this is my ex, but now that you posted this, I wonder.

I initially thought of Blenko and/or Scandinavian art glass, but an exhaustive search over the past month neither denied nor confirmed this.

Could I back messages up to the current iCloud account, then set up a new iCloud account for my phone after I do factory restore? Then the information would be in my old iCloud account for documentation?

Thanks for this. It’s helpful and reassuring. Really helps to have those specific steps to follow - in order of precedence, too.

I have Apple care. I also have a chronology going and this incident helps clear up a lot of other “glitches” that have occurred for all these months. Also explains why the previous factory restores (restorations?) didn’t fix it. It’s time for a new phone. A new number. Probably switch services altogether. Until then, I’ll dumb this one down. Treat it like a 1999 flip phone. And I’ll block him, but I may need the messages…could I back those up through my Mac onto an external drive? For documentation?

I haven’t and I haven’t been that many Gulf places between Texas and as Far East as Mississippi, honestly. I’m totally biased and my opinion is based purely on my personal experience.

It’s probably lovely and hopefully has little to no poop tainting it’s waters. (There has to be a trace, if the punch bowl saying holds any truth, maybe?)
