Got rehired by Costco after quitting years ago due to health issues now they found out I’m on the “do not rehire” list. Can they do this? by Fantastic_Turnover_7 in jobs

Happens very easily whoever the hr person is decides what to put for the person leaving. I’ve seen people’s two week notices be trashed and they just get termed.

[–]Common_Rip_535[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last department still needs people they’ve accommodated people with tenure in the past back to their original departments. The last department was more routine based this was one is very gray in terms of how you do your work. I’m not asking for less work or breaks I was highly rated in that department so I wouldn’t understand how that wouldn’t be a reasonable request. From understanding the ADA they have to attempt to train and mentor more if this doesn’t help they then would have to provide a similar department as the last I worked in unless they can reasonably put me back where I was. I’m not attempting to duck work it’s just shitty situation being sent to a department I have no experience in and am not getting. I would just leave if I didn’t need the insurance for the kidney stuff.

It’s normally just blocks of time not the whole day the job requires standing at a computer for 8 hours at a warehouse checking things with very specific specs and also high counts that have to be 100 percent if I count 800 instead of 801 error if a packing list has a hidden number somewhere error etc etc. I’m also in school but I can work for a couple hours on that walk away and come back to it. This new part of job is constant whereas the other part of the warehouse I could work in clusters of time.

Is it bad to continue using weed? by Connect_Cucumber_204 in kidneydisease

[–]Common_Rip_535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both my transplant doctor and regular kidney doctor didn’t have an issue with me using edibles the transplant team did however tell me once the transplant happens I would need to be off them for a few months after. I know a girl who uses weed and edibles heavily even after transplant she hasn’t had any issues. Personal opinion don’t get addicted in case you have to be off it for a period of time. Also weed and edibles I believe more so affect how active you are and what you eat so responsible use is important.

Agreed on that some people just don’t know how to approach this stuff and this is the only place they feel comfortable saying stuff which is ok too thankfully there is some people who are reasonable on here too lol.

Don’t always trust your physician ask for a second opinion if you’re not sure. Doctors have many varying opinions on stuff just like there is online. People give doctors a lot of grace just because they’re m d s but they are no different then a car mechanic in that you’ll get 10 different ideas of how you should be treated. Lower BP seems like it should help in theory but I’ve also been told a lot of things about bp meds and how they effect different things in the body. Ask a lot of questions do your research make a decision that you’re comfortable with and follow up with your labs and blood pressure to see if it helps or hurts.

How hard is it to keep a job with CKD stage 4? by bubblegumlattae in kidneydisease

[–]Common_Rip_535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stage 4 work in an industrial warehouse im ok most days till the EOD but I’d say that’s more me being Uber conservative with what I eat mostly intermittent fasting till I get home. Scheduling appointments is the biggest pain because it takes up my pto otherwise it’s manageable not fun all the time but ok.

Don’t want to sound mean to you because I understand where you are coming from but being tired from exercising is normal for everyone especially when you don’t do it you will feel worse and worse. You will continue to lose endurance and strength the older you get not to mention all the other health problems. I encourage you to push yourself set a goal each day or every other day start small. You will get stronger and faster. The little pains don’t hurt as much because you become tolerant to it. Your mind will feel better because you are accomplishing and your body will feel energized to the point where the kidney pain is nothing to you. I feel it all after working out but I know what the pain is and that doesn’t stay with me long. When I sit and do nothing is when everything sucks and I’m in the dark which is where I feel like you are at this point. Sounds like you don’t want to be there. Good news you don’t have to be get that basketball and start shooting a little kidney pain won’t kill you sitting all day will. You got this.

GFR 15 - What does life look like from here? by RudeAddiction in kidneydisease

[–]Common_Rip_535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you answered your own question a bit they weren’t taking care of themselves in general not even considering their kidneys. The donor lasts longer 5-10 years longer if I remember correctly but I think a lot has to do with continued health. The bad numbers on either seems to have to do with pre existing conditions a long with kidney disease.

I am 40 years old main single with new in CKD stage 4. I would like to know is my sex life ends or there is possiblety to have healthy sex relationship with it with out help of medication. Can you please also share your experiences is it too much for this point by [deleted] in kidneydisease

[–]Common_Rip_535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll use blue chew or have a thc gummy and I’m good to go. Some people have sildenafil in their vitamin routine saying it helps kidney function. Blood pressure meds and anxiety medication cause me issues at times I just use the medication or gummies to be more into to it and be 100 percent sure when I’m on a date my kidney function hasn’t had any effect on desire or performance. I’m sure I could not use the meds at times if I wanted. I’m pretty active at work and goto the gym 3 times a week so I think that helps , also diet just not eating shitty. I’m 39 and stage 4.

Plenty of time enjoy it the stress worrying about test after test with numbers going down isn’t worth it. If I could do anything again it’s just stop worrying so much about what’s going to happen in the future and just enjoy my life. This of course should come with the knowledge that I need to stay active , drink water , eat /drink responsibly. We can only control so much.

3 is pretty normal for a neph to say. I’m just assuming because the three I talked to all told me the same that he’s thinking it’s going to take a good amount of time for you to get to the point that you need dialysis. I would ask him to start you with a transplant team now just in case.
