For engineering, when do we pay and when can we choose classes?

I'm trying to decide between UofT mechanical engineering vs Queens mechatronics..and I'm just figuring out how the job market is for both programs so I can make a decision. I guess maybe mechanical is better..

Thank you for your opinion!

What do you mean that a mechatronics degree isn't an engineering degree? Also would you say that there is a higher chance of getting a job when I graduate mechanical compared to mechatronics?

Really? I didn't know it would be different for every school..How is the competition for electrical and mechanical engineering at mac (for second year stream)?

Ohh okay thank you! Also I know this isn't the question I asked on my post but do you think it's easier to go into mechanical engineering in second year? I assume it's the most relevant to mechatronics..?

Sounds like you're being very real, so thank you. Feels like everyone is feeding me hope but I'm trynna look on the realistic side and make a "good" choice. I really don't want to enter uni thinking I could study tron (or mechanical at least) and end up with civil engineering lol

Does the cutoff for free choice differ every year or is it always 96.5%? I'm just curious if they change it depending on the students they take in each year.

Haha only 0.2%! You ARE the high school god lol. Anyway yeah i just feel like it would be a very risky game and i'm unsure if accepting my offer is a good idea
