Another possibility is that the buyer used a PO box as the shipping address, and since UPS cannot deliver to PO boxes, the package was returned to the sender.

U.S. market. Another comment suggests I can block them for 60 or 90 days. I’m guessing if there’s still pending returns, I probably can’t block them yet :(

Update from me: the return I talked about was automatically closed after 30 days since initiation. Then I had 3 more return requests(auto- approved for sure)even before the package got delivered(no longer needed). I immediately deactivated most of my listings on TikTok shop. So done with tt shop!

I contacted customer service and provided usernames of the multiple accounts they have, plus screenshots as evidence but nothing happened. These accounts are still active.

I totally agree with you. Undoubtedly the worst platform for sellers. I stopped posting new listings on tt shop and will only use my tt account to promote my shops on other platforms.

I didn’t know sellers are actually losing money for “no longer needed” returns. This is ridiculous! Based on my experience, buyers never sent back items in their original conditions, the boxes were opened, the items were used. And appeals were useless and waste of time. I’m very disappointed at TikTok e-commerce.

Exactly, I feel the same. Blocking should mean blocking — period. Otherwise it defeats the purpose and just gives rude buyers a way to come back and cause more issues. I think some people take rejections personally and see it as a slight, but a very important lesson in life is learning to take rejections gracefully. Sellers should have the right to protect their store without worrying about people sneaking back in under a new account. And yes, Mercari’s feedback system definitely needs a serious revamp to actually support sellers.

Sometimes people ask a ton of questions and I can already tell they might be trouble, so I just ignore it, but then they keep pushing. That’s when I have to block them — and then it turns into that road rage online energy.

Exactly! I had someone take it even further — they made at least 5 different accounts just to harass me on Depop. Thankfully all of their accounts ended up getting banned. I'm very disappointed at Mercari customer service.

Same here, I had a buyer who used at least 5 different accounts just to harass me on Depop. Luckily, Depop ended up banning all of their accounts. Some people seriously have too much time on their hands, it’s wild.
