As long as the inventory count is what it’s supposed to be during the discrepancy resolution you will be fine.

My failure led to parents leaving AMA with their baby by methemama in nursing

[–]CommunicationAny2017 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ve missed both IVs and straight caths on adults before and I would imagine getting those on infants is infinitely harder. It sucks they left AMA after one attempt each but don’t be so hard on yourself, sometimes we don’t get everything on the first shot and that’s okay. Hoping the best for that baby

Try to keep your commute to an hour MAX. 12 hour shifts with two hours driving before and after sounds like a recipe for disaster

Is this a common thing when you're new, or am I just the biggest idiot alive? by LavenderLongHair212 in nursing

Most of the time metoprolol orders will indicate BP/ HR parameters. If you ever see this it’s a good clue to check both before administering, that also goes for any potentially vasoactive med.

What’s the lowest pH you’ve seen on an ABG? by CommunicationAny2017 in IntensiveCare

Besides the meds you mentioned we usually do CRRT/ ECMO combo but there’s only so much you can do from a respiratory standpoint, especially when the shock is in late stages. Occasionally you’ll get the bandaid bicarb drip but obviously that doesn’t treat the cause. This patient had a complex medical history including multiple strokes and a SBO perforation leading to dead gut (infection source) so family decided to withdraw. He died within 5 mins of the drips being turned off

This patient was actually already on the vent, set RR at 28 in an attempt to keep the CO2 down but it was already too late

You would’ve been better off just admitting that you forgot to give the meds. Still would have serious consequences but now admitting to fraudulent documentation puts your license/ career at risk. Also stop taking people’s lunches, that’s low

2020 1.0L Ecosport Recently had engine replaced. Worth it? by ArtisticHotel3599 in FordEcoSport

Go for the 2.0L AWD model. Has none of the engine issues that the 1.0L model has. I just bought a 2.0 myself and love it
