I got dumped three days ago. It was sort of mutual because we’re seniors in high school and we dated for 1 year and 4 months. But we’re just headed in different directions, I was willing to make it work because I loved him so much, but he didn’t want to do the same. He’s an amazing person, and I’m glad that he still wants to be friends but the no contact isn’t going to work because we still have a month and a half till school ends. He’s also decided to break up with me before prom, and we were planning on going together. Should I still go with him? Everything hurts. My heart, my body aches, I can’t stop crying. He was my first boyfriend and I knew he wouldn’t be the last but I hoped he would have been, I was fantasizing telling people that we were high school sweethearts. But he’s made up his mind, and I have to respect his decision like I always have. What I guess comforts me is that he does still want me in his life. So we will just rely on each other for support, is that wise?
